Tata Projects to focus on building chip factories
MUMBAI : Tata Projects Ltd expects to earn around 20% of its revenue from building factories for semiconductor manufacturing by FY25-26, its managing director, Vinayak Pai, said in an interview. “One of our strong focus areas is design and EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) of state- of-the-art gigafactory for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. We can leverage our significant experience in electronics and solar panel manufacturing facilities as well as data centres to deliver value to our customers for semiconductor and chip manufacturing," Pai said.

MUMBAI : In a strategic shift, Citi India sold its retail business to Axis Bank and is now focussed on its institutional business and global capability centres (GCCs). MUMBAI : Top mutual fund houses were active on the RBL stock counter last month, coinciding with auto major M&M’s ₹417 crore investment for a 3.53% stake in the Mumbai-based lender, which was greeted with surprise by the market. Axis MF made a new entry into RBL stock counter while Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, which held 1.32% of its equity as of June quarter, added more, shows data from brokerage Nuvama. Interestingly, Nippon India MF, which held the highest stake among peers of 3.09%, cut its stake in RBL.

Maharashtra: 18 deaths reported in 24 hours in Thane hospital; probe panel constituted, says civic chief
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa in Thane, civic commissioner Abhijit Bangar said on Sunday. These comprise 10 women and eight men, of which six are from Thane city, four from Kalyan, three from Sahapur, one each from Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar and Govandi (in Mumbai), one patient is from some other place and and one is unidentified, he said. RBI signals to Delhi that it can’t cut rates before Lok Sabha polls
Lok Sabha elections due in April 2024, and before that a string of state assembly polls, Raisina Hill would like to see the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) start cutting rates sooner rather than later. Lower borrowing costs will allow it to craft a more election-friendly budget and signal to middle-class families repaying home loans that the cycle of rising monthly installments has ended. RBI’s interest-rate-setting committee has refrained from touching rates for three meetings in a row this year, including in the latest one, held from 8 to 10 August.
