Nitin Gadkari highlighted in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that within the next five years, India's aviation industry will use 20 per cent of Bio-aviation fuel. «Within five years our aviation industry will use 20 per cent of bio-aviation fuel, sustainable aviation fuel and that is to be starting it from parali (Stubble) and the farmer will get the rate of Rs 2500 per ton for it» said Gadkari during a reply in Rajya Sabha. The minister also highlighted that now the highway ministry is using bio-bitumen in the construction of roads which is helping India in reducing the imports of the Bitumen. Local-language web originals are still playing catch-up with Hindi
NEW DELHI : Despite rising interest and investments in non-Hindi web originals in the country, local-language shows still have a long way to go in terms of viewership, shows a recent report. B&B: Bujji and Bhairava (Telugu) and Inspector Rishi (Tamil)—the most-watched regional-language shows—clocked in a viewership of 4.9 million each, against the 28.2 million of the most-watched hindi show, Panchayat-Season 3, in the first six months of 2024, according to research conducted by media consulting firm Ormax Media. Entertainment industry experts say audiences in vernacular markets are still more lured by cinema and television, and unlike Hindi, there are no established franchises with returning seasons.

Healthtech startup Visit Health raises Rs 250 crore from PB Fintech subsidiary Docprime Tech
Visit Health has raised approximately Rs 250 crore in a combination of capital infusion and secondary purchase of shares from Docprime Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of PB Fintech, as well as other promoters and employees. The New Delhi-based company will use the funds to expand its business, including a new partnership with TatvaCare, a company specialising in the health and wellness space, Visit Health said in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the collaboration will leverage capabilities of both companies and maximise their reach in the healthcare sector. “The company’s primary capital requirement was not much because we have been Ebitda positive for the past few years. The remaining acquisition of shares can only happen through secondary transactions, involving existing entities such as Docprime, promoters, and we did a good chunk of Esop buyback as well,” said Vaibhav Singh, cofounder and managing director of Visit Health.

Bangla-dashed: Sheikh Hasina resigns, flees to India; protesters storm residence; military in charge
Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh for India on Monday seemingly just ahead of protesters storming their way into the Prime Minister's residence in Dhaka as month-long protests led by students over job quotas boiled over into an uprising. As many as 300 people have been killed since the protest began in July. A plane carrying Hasina, 76, landed at the Hindon Indian Air Force base just outside the capital as New Delhi worked out a safe passage for its long-standing ally in the region. Her final destination isn't clear. While some reports said she may go into exile in London, there is a possibility that she might depart for a destination in eastern or southern Europe. Belarus may be one of the possible destinations. Back in Dhaka, the country's army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said on state television that, with Sheikh Hasina having resigned, the military would form a caretaker government, following meetings with political parties.

Explained: How Sheikh Hasina’s resignation will impacts India-Bangladesh ties
Sheikh Hasina's resignation as Prime Minister and departure from Bangladesh created multiple uncertainties for India. For over one-and-a-half decade she was New Delhi’s strongest ally, and during this time, India-Bangladesh relations reached new heights. The bilateral ties flourished with advances in cross-border trade, transit arrangements, security collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges. However, Hasina’s ouster casts doubt on these achievements. The protests that led to her departure also carried an anti-India sentiment, given the close association perceived between Hasina and New Delhi.

Honoured and flattered that Sheikh Hasina feels safe in Bharat: Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut on Monday said it is a matter of great honour that Bangladesh leader Sheikh Hasina «feels safe in Bharat» after Hasina resigned as prime minister and landed near Delhi in a military aircraft amid unrest in her country. Ranaut, a national award-winning actor and BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, also criticised those questioning "Hindu Rastra (a Hindu nation)". She claimed that Muslim countries are not safe «even for Muslims». «Bharat is the original motherland of all Islamic Republics around us. We are honoured and flattered that honourable Prime Minister of Bangladesh feels safe in Bharat but all those who live in India and keep asking why Hindu Rashtra? Why Ram Rajya? Well it is evident why!!! »No one is safe in Muslim countries not even Muslims themselves. Unfortunate whatever is happening in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Britain. We are lucky to be living in Ram Rajya," the 38-year-old MP, who has often courted controversies with her remarks, said in a post on X.

Delhi under rain's siege: A day of 'nightmares' for the National Capital
The heavy rain caused major flooding. Tilak Bridge and Vikas Marg, which leads to Laxmi Nagar, were both underwater. The police had to close Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg to keep vehicles away from the flooded Minto Bridge. Trying to drive along Ring Road from Delhi Gate past Raj Ghat resulted in huge traffic jams. The situation was made worse by several vehicles breaking down. Two buses stalled after turning left from ITO onto Vikas Marg. Another bus was left abandoned near Delhi Gate, and two more buses broke down almost at the same time near Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. One of these buses blocked the left lane, while the other stopped in the main lane, leaving just one lane open for other cars. Waterlogging on the right side of the road also slowed traffic. Rukmani Gupta, who works in ITO, said, «As if this wasn't enough, waterlogging on the right side forced traffic to move extra slowly.»
