Lionel Richie tweeted about the situation at 8:31 p.m. He said, «Due to severe weather and being unable to land in the NY and surrounding areas, I’m unable to make it to the show tonight.» He also announced that the show would be rescheduled for Monday, August 14. He expressed his disappointment and said he was looking forward to performing for everyone. He also mentioned that tickets for the canceled show would still be valid for the rescheduled show on Monday. Earth Wind and Fire were also part of the show. They are now set to perform at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on Monday. It's not clear if they will be able to make it to the rescheduled show in New York.
