The fifth installment, rumored to be the final in the iconic Indiana Jones series, sees the venerable 81-year-old Harrison Ford once again donning his emblematic hat and wielding his famed whip. Helmed by James Mangold and backed by executive producers Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, the film is set against the backdrop of 1969, a full three decades subsequent to the escapades depicted in «Raiders of the Lost Ark.» This narrative voyage witnesses Indy joining forces with his goddaughter Helena Shaw (portrayed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge) as they embark on a mission to seize a potent artifact, one that the clutches of Nazi scientists seek to secure. This latest addition, «Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,» encapsulates the quintessential essence of an Indy adventure. Despite its remarkable accomplishment of amassing $378.9 million in global box office receipts, essentially recuperating its production expenditures, the film's performance left much to be desired.

Peru have named a new species of snake after Harrison Ford in honor of the "Indiana Jones" actor's support for conservation work. The 40 cm (16 inch) reptile was first discovered in May 2022 in the jungle mountains of Otishi National Park, San Marcos National University said Wednesday. But it was not until now that researchers concluded it was indeed a previously unknown species.

The movie, premiered in June, showcases Ford donning the iconic hat once again. Phoebe Waller-Bridge from Fleabag joins the cast as Indy's goddaughter Helena Shaw. Notable actors in Dial of Destiny include Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore, Mads Mikkelsen and Karen Allen. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is currently showing in cinemas across the UK and the US.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is more competition coming in the next few weeks, with Mission: Impossible 7, Barbie, and Oppenheimer releasing in theaters.

Although the film managed to secure the top spot at the US box office, its projected opening weekend earnings of $60 million fell on the lower end of expectations. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse achieved an impressive $120.7 million during its first weekend.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, or Indiana Jones 5 is the new-and-fresh release and currently in the theatres. It had a sloppy Day 1, it may be due to the whopping high budget of $250-329 million. The fifth installment in the popular series has thus far received over 6.9 rating out of 10 on IMDB, whereas the Rotten Tomatoes has given it a score of 68 per cent. IGN rated it lower among these, 4 out of 10.
