Through the popular Netflix series "Cobra Kai," which revealed its sixth and final season earlier this year, Macchio has maintained the role of Daniel. Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg devised the program, which is set several decades after the events of the first «Karate Kid» films and rekindles the rivalry between Daniel, who is now middle-aged, and Johnny Lawrence, who is played by William Zabka. Prior to Cobra Kai, five Karate Kid films were made, which began 1984, and they collectively grossed more than $430 million globally.
