MUMBAI : The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition by Guangdong Oppo Mobile challenging a Delhi Court order that directed the Chinese smartphone maker to deposit 23% of the amount paid towards “royalty"under a 2018 licensing pact for alleged infringement of the Finnish company’s (Nokia) three standard essential patents in cellular technology. While the top court allowed Oppo three weeks to comply with the high court order, it held that there was no justification to intervene at this stage. India comprises 23% of Oppo’s global sales.

Ministry of Defense Wednesday revealed that the US Government approved the sale by Israel of the country's «David's Sling» anti-missile defence system to Finland. After receiving approval, the Israeli MOD, the Finnish MOD & Rafael Advanced Systems — the Israeli defence contractor that develops the system — will participate in a ceremony to sign a procurement agreement worth approximately 316 million Euros (USD 344 million).

The Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday filed charges against a U.S. citizen who it alleged raised more than $1 billion through the unregistered offer and sale of crypto securities before pilfering millions to fuel a high-status lifestyle and the acquisition of luxury goods, including the largest black diamond in the world.

Vladimir Putin reviewed a parade of warships and nuclear submarines in his native St Petersburg on Sunday and announced that the Russian Navy would receive 30 new ships this year. International Friendship Day is celebrated across the world on July 30 every year. An international civil organization World Friendship Crusade was the first to propose International Friendship Day in 1958. In India, it is celebrated on the first Sunday in the month of August. In Spain, it is July 20, In Bolivia, it is July 23 and in Finland, it is February 14.

New Delhi: Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia and India’s Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) will train 300 people in 5G, IoT and allied skills at the Nokia Centre of Excellence which was inaugurated at ITI Kubernagar, Gujarat, Monday.   The centre is setting up a skill lab for training of the candidates with the aim of providing placement offers within 4-6 weeks of course completion to at least 70% of learners. About 300 such candidates will benefit from the program in the first year of the project.   “As part of our larger commitment to local communities, we are facilitating connectivity and digitization to further positive socio-economic, educational and health impacts in India.
