Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday clarified that he was misquoted on his purported remarks regarding the US semiconductor firm Micron. «Semiconductor is a strategic industry. It is a basic requirement for electronics and automobile manufacturing. Both these sectors generate lots of employment. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the State Bank of India (SBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday to enhance digital payment services for users of the eMigrate portal. The agreement was signed by Joint Secretary OE and PGE (Overseas Employment and Protector General of Emigrants) Bramha Kumar, on behalf of the Ministry, and Neelesh Dwivedi, General Manager (NW-I) from SBI, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Delhi. This MoU will become operational following the successful integration of SBI's payment gateway, SBIePay, with the eMigrate portal.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that construction of 1,000-Mw Solar Power Project in Karbi Anglong will begin shortly. Sarma on Friday laid the foundation stone for a 25-Mw capacity solar power generation project at the premises of the Namrup Thermal Power Station in Dibrugarh district. A joint venture collaboration between the Assam Power Generation Corporation and Oil India Limited, the project will be spread across 108 acres of land and is likely to cost Rs. 115 crores in project cost. The solar project, approved by the State Cabinet on August 19, 2022, is projected to produce 50 million units of electricity every year and its construction is expected to be completed by July 2025.
