Bangladesh's Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain on Saturday said that Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus will not be meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, according to media reports. Hossain, former foreign secretary of Bangladesh, said he would hold a bilateral meeting with India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to advance the relationship between the two neighbours, The Daily Star newspaper reported. At a press briefing at the foreign ministry in the afternoon, Hossain said, «Sorting out all issues, we want to further advance our relationship based on mutual respect and fairness.»

Suresh Prabhu on Saturday called for setting up food testing labs by FSSAI at all public places where 'prasadam' is distributed to ensure quality, amid the Tirupati laddu row. Nara Lokesh on Saturday said that creating 20 lakh jobs is the single agenda of the TDP-led NDA government in the state, which was given a massive mandate of 93 per cent seats in the 2024 elections. MG Motor India on Saturday revealed the prices for its latest launch, the MG Windsor. The «intelligent» crossover utility vehicle, and India's first, as MG calls it, will carry a starting price tag of Rs 13,49,800 (Ex-Showroom). This price includes the battery cost as well. MG Motor India had on September 11 launched the all-electric Windsor EV, marking a significant addition to its electric vehicle portfolio. It had said the Windsor EV would be priced starting at Rs 9.9 lakh. However, that price excludes the battery. The car will have three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, priced (ex-showroom) at Rs 13,49,800, Rs 14,49,800, and Rs 15,49,800, respectively.

The ministry stated that the transaction volume of digital payments has reached 8,659 crore during the same period. The value of UPI transactions has grown from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 200 lakh crore at a CAGR of 138%. Additionally, in the last 5 months (April-August FY2024-25), the total transaction value has surged to an impressive Rs 101 lakh crore. The Ministry of Finance in a statement on Friday highlighted that digital payments in India have witnessed significant growth, with the total number of digital payment transactions increasing from 2,071 crore in FY 2017-18 to 18,737 crore in FY 2023-24, at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 44%.
