Progressive wellness President show performer country travelers PM Modi receives ceremonial welcome as he begins Sri Lanka visit
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake greeted him at the venue, marking the start of a packed diplomatic schedule. Earlier in the day, PM Modi was warmly welcomed at his hotel, where he was seen shaking hands with members of the Indian diaspora and witnessing a puppet show performed in his honour. The vibrant reception reflected the strong cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries. PM Modi's arrival in Colombo came after his visit to Thailand, where he held a bilateral meeting with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and attended the BIMSTEC Summit. On the sidelines, he engaged in further bilateral discussions, laying the groundwork for this leg of his regional outreach. Despite rainy weather, six senior Sri Lankan ministers personally received PM Modi at the airport. The delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath; Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa; Minister of Labour Anil Jayantha; Minister of Fisheries Ramalingam Chandrasekar; Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj; and Minister of Science and Technology Chrishantha Abeysena.

MET Election Death community Myanmar War Myanmar earthquake death toll at 3,354, junta leader returns from summit
death toll from Myanmar's devastating earthquake climbed to 3,354, with 4,850 injured and 220 missing, state media said on Saturday, as the visiting U.N. aid chief praised humanitarian and community groups for leading the aid response. The leader of the military government, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, was back in the capital Naypyitaw after a rare foreign trip to attend a summit in Bangkok of South and Southeast Asian nations, where he also met separately with the leaders of Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and India. Min Aung Hlaing reaffirmed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi the junta's plans to hold «free and fair» elections in December, Myanmar state media said. Modi called for a post-quake ceasefire in Myanmar's civil war to be made permanent, and said the elections needed to be «inclusive and credible», an Indian foreign affairs spokesperson said on Friday. Critics have derided the planned election as a sham to keep the generals in power through proxies.

UPS Target Ball exclusive bowling IPL 2025: Wanindu Hasaranga enters rare club after sizzling four-wicket haul against CSK
Rajasthan Royals leg-break spinner Wanindu Hasaranga entered an exclusive club after bagging a four-wicket haul against Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Hasaranga singlehandedly broke the backbone of Chennai's attempt to chase down 183 on Guwahati's surface. He tore CSK's batting order apart by cleaning up Rahul Tripathi, Vijay Shankar, Shivam Dube and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. He ended his full bowling quota of four overs with searing figures of 4/35 and became just the third spinner to register a four-wicket haul against Chennai in the cash-rich league. Former ball tweaker Harbhajan Singh was the first to script the feat to his name after dazzling for Mumbai Indians and claiming 5/18 against the five-time champions in 2011.

The women student protest leaders of Bangladesh will be honoured with the 'Madeleine Albright Honorary Group Award', named after the first woman to serve as US Secretary of State. «A valiant group of women were key drivers in the student protest movement against violent repression in Bangladesh in July-August 2024. They demonstrated extraordinary bravery, including standing between security forces and male protestors in spite of threats and violence,» the State Department said in a statement. «When their male counterparts were arrested, these women found innovative ways to continue communication and lead the protests, defying censorship efforts, even during the complete shutdown of the Internet. The bravery and selflessness of these women amid uncertainty was the very definition of courage,» it said. However, the State Department did not name any particular individual for the award.

Ball Entertainment wellness film love Celebrity bowling I got that from Pushpa: Hasaranga reveals inspiration behind celebration against CSK
Rajasthan Royals leg-break spinner Wanindu Hasaranga's love for South Indian movies was the underlying factor behind his 'Pushpa' style celebration against Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Sri Lankan ball tweaker's four-wicket haul inspired the Royals to their first win in the 18th edition of the cash-rich league on an action-packed Sunday. Out of his four scalps, Hasaranga punched the return ticket of the Super Kings batters, a ball after conceding a maximum on three occasions. Hasaranga added a filmy touch to celebrate his moment of success. He pulled off the trademark move of Allu Arjun's blockbuster 'Pushpa' to add entertainment and spice to the gripping affair. «I love to watch Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil films, and I got that from the Pushpa film,» Hasaranga said after the match.

WhatsApp wellness stars cricket Sporting bowling RR vs CSK Live Streaming Online: When and where to watch Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings match
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, two teams finding their foot in IPL 2025, go head to head at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati on Sunday. CSK faced a drubbing at home against RCB when they lost by 50 runs — their worst defeat at Chepauk. RR, on the other hand, have lost their opening two matches. Rajasthan, the hosts for this encounter, have been exposed and the lack of depth in the squad is visible. Sanju Riyan Parag, who will captain once again, Sanju Samosn, who is playing as an impact sub, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Parag, Shubham Dubey, Nitish Rana and Dhruv Jurel have not fired consistently. Though they have done well in patches, it was not enough to escape defeat. The bowling looks even bleaker with Jofra Archer not in form and the two Sri Lankan spinners being picked easily. CSK look better on paper even after a bad defeat in the previous match. The spin trio of Noor Ahmad, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja is capable of destroying any batting attack on a slow surface. CSK, however, have a problem in their middle order which has failed to contribute anything significant if the openers Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad do not get runs. MS Dhoni further down the order has also led to the CSK batting order looking unbalanced.

Provident Aware Fishing Updates International boating aquatics "Our government has inherited the problem": EAM replies on Indian fishermen detained by Sri Lanka
Indian fishermen detained in Sri Lanka during the question hour in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishanker said that the current government inherited the situation due to events that can be traced back to 1974 and 1976. Jaishankar detailed Sri Lanka's legal framework, stating, «Sri Lanka has two laws--the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act of 1996 and the Fisheries Regulation of Foreign Fishing Boats of 1979. Both these acts were amended in 2018 and 2023, providing for much stiffer sentences, bigger fines, and greater detention.» He explained that many of those serving sentences are boat owners, skippers, or repeat offenders, complicating resolution efforts. He stated that the «root cause» of the ongoing issue related to the detention of Indian fishermen in Sri Lanka began in 1974 when the international maritime boundary line was drawn, followed by an exchange of letters in 1976 with Sri Lanka delineating fishing jurisdiction. «The house is aware that, in a way, our government has inherited the problem. This problem began in 1974 when the international maritime boundary line was drawn, followed by an exchange of letters in 1976 delineating fishing jurisdiction. These decisions are the root cause of the situation,» EAM said while replying to the question raised by DMK MP Tiruchi Siva.
