Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda on Tuesday filed his nomination as the BJP candidate for the Khunti Lok Sabha constituency in the state. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Joba Manjhi also filed her nomination during the day as the INDIA bloc candidate for the Singhbhum (ST) Lok Sabha seat. Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi, AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto and other senior leaders accompanied Munda when he submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer at the Khunti district collectorate. Before filing his nomination, Munda offered prayers at a temple in Khunti.

KS Eshwarappa for six years after he decided to contest independently from Shivamogga constituency. KS Eshwarappa is contesting as an independent from Shivamogga. He will fight against BY Raghvendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. The party in a statement said that KS Eshwarappa has «embarrassed» the party by going to the polls as an independent candidate.

BJP on Tuesday named Tashi Gyalson as its candidate from Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, dropping sitting MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal. Gyalson is the chairman-cum-chief executive councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council in Leh. Namgyal had hit the headlines in 2019 with his viral speech in Lok Sabha to defend the Narendra Modi government's decision to repeal Article 370 and making Ladakh as a separate Union Territory. The BJP's decision to drop Namgyal comes amid resentment towards the ruling party among a section of Buddhists in Leh.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday made serious allegations against the Congress and said the grand old party has in its election manifesto expressed its intention to implement the 'Sharia law' in the country and redistribute people's property. Addressing an election rally in Amroha, Adityanath said, «The Congress and its allies have betrayed the country and have once again come to you with their false manifesto. If you look at the Congress' manifesto, they say that if they form a government, we will implement the Sharia law.» «You tell me, will this country be run by the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar or by Shariat?» he asked.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot slammed BJP stating that the party won't be able to win a single seat in Kerala or any southern state and expressed strong confidence in the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the INDIA bloc predicting a clean sweep for the coalition in the state. «I think the response is fantastic. People have decided to vote for the UDF. In Kerala, all people across community religion and across caste have decided to fully support the INDIA alliance and UDF will get 20 0ut 0f 20 seats here. BJP will not be able to open their account in kerala or in any other southern states,» Pilot told ANI. Kerala sees a straight face-off between the Congress and the Left in most of the 20 seats with the BJP hoping to dent the tradition by putting up a good show.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday claimed that if «Modi-Shah sarkar» comes back to power, then the democracy will end in the country. Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh's Satna, Kharge further claimed that they will also scrap the Constitution made by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. «If you want to keep alive the Constitution, the right to vote for women, labourers and farmers, then vote for the Congress and its 'panja' (hand) symbol,» Kharge told the gathering. «Democracy will end if Modi-Shah's government comes to power,» Kharge claimed addressing the public meeting in Satna in support of Congress candidate Siddharth Kushwaha.

Atishi Monday alleged that the ED «lied» in court about consulting specialists from AIIMS over whether Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a diabetic, needs insulin. Kejriwal had on Friday moved a fresh plea seeking consultation with his physician for 15 minutes every day and administration of insulin in jail. Addressing a press conference, Atishi said, «The ED lied in court and said specialists from AIIMS were consulted and they have said that no insulin is needed and have also formulated a diet chart for Kejriwal.» «However, the diet chart was not prepared by an endocrinologist or diabetologist, but by a dietician. We all know that dieticians are not MBBS doctors. On the basis of that diet cart, they have been saying in court that Kejriwal does not need insulin,» she said.

Congress on Sunday said its previous government in Rajasthan passed a series of visionary laws to meaningfully improve the quality of life of thousands in the state and asked why the current BJP dispensation is «rolling back» pro-people schemes. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh posed the questions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his rallies in Jalore and Banswara. «Why is the BJP Government rolling back the INC's pro-people schemes? Does the PM prioritise his businessmen friends over Rajasthan's rural communities? Why has ERCP not been designated a national project yet,» Ramesh asked in a post on X. Elaborating on what he said were «jumla details», Ramesh said when the Congress was in power in Rajasthan, it passed a series of visionary laws that would meaningfully improve the quality of life of thousands in the state.

Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Sunday claimed that the central government is plotting to kill chief minister Arvind Kejriwal by not providing him with insulin. In a press conference, Bhardwaj said, «Narendra Modi and his government want that Arvind Kejriwal ji's sugar level should keep increasing. He should not be given insulin. »The BJP central government wants that due to increased sugar, their kidneys, liver, heart and eyes get damaged and they die," he further added.

BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed from Surat, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri indirectly targeted Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday and said that it is not the first time, but 35 candidates have been elected unopposed since independence. In a post on X, Puri said that half out of the 35 candidates were from the Congress party. «Surat is not the first time that a candidate has been elected unopposed to Parliament. 35 candidates have been elected unopposed in general elections and by-polls since independence. Rajnath Singh on Sunday asserted that the BJP delivers on its promises, and maintained that no one can stop implementation of the CAA in West Bengal. He said the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 is not meant to take away anyone's citizenship, but is a law for granting Indian citizenship to people displaced from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan on religious grounds. «The Congress, Trinamool Congress or the Left parties make promises during elections that are not fulfilled, but the BJP delivers on its promises,» he said, addressing a rally here in support of BJP candidate from Malda Uttar constituency, Khagen Murmu. He asserted that no one can stop the implementation of CAA in West Bengal, along with the rest of India.

Modi on Sunday accused the Congress party of ignoring the welfare of tribals, saying it could not find a single person from the Adivasi community who could be the President of the country during its 60-year rule. «Were the tribals not capable? Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said National Conference leader Chaudhary Mohammad Akram equating the Congress with the BJP should make the workers of the country's oldest political party think about their support to the oldest regional party in Jammu and Kashmir. «Chaudhary Akram could not have said anything worse than equating the Congress with the BJP while joining the National Conference. He said that there was no difference between the Congress and the BJP,» Mufti told reporters while campaigning in the Larnoo area of Anantnag district. The former chief minister said it was unfortunate that Akram chose to describe the Congress in that way. «His father (Chaudhary Mohammad Aslam) was in Congress.
