Fact-checkers brace for lie-filled debate as Trump faces Harris
Washington: Donald Trump's return to the debate stage has media organizations grappling once more with how to cover his frequent distortions of the truth. Several fact-checking operations say they have been preparing for weeks ahead of the Republican's face-off Tuesday against Vice President Kamala Harris, their only debate currently scheduled before the November 5 election. Democrat Harris will also face scrutiny over how she presents her and President Joe Biden's White House record, as well as her own policy agenda.

U.S. Elections: Malik, Barack Obama’s half-brother and best man at his wedding, to vote for Donald Trump
Barack Obama, announced he was voting for Trump. This sibling rivalry still exists. Abon'go Malik Obama, the half-brother of the late President Barack Obama, stole the show on Wednesday when he declared he would be voting for Donald Trump in November. Malik Obama wrote on X that he is a registered Republican and he is voting for President Donald Trump. In the last two elections, the relative of the 44th president supported Trump, 78, over former Obama administration officials. It has been reported that Barack Obama assisted in propelling the Californian to the top of the Democratic ticket for 2024, where she would face outgoing President Biden. Kamala Harris trailing Joe Biden, Bill Clinton at this point in campaigns, says strategists
Joe Biden led Donald Trump by 7.1 percent on this day in 2020 according to the Real Clear Politics average. The election came down to a small number of votes in a small number of states, and at this point in 2016, Hillary Clinton was ahead by 6.3 per cent. As of right now, Harris leads Trump by 1.5 per cent in the Real Clear Politics average and 3.5 per cent in the FiveThirtyEight.com average. Thus, while she leads in both averages, she is far behind in terms of the numbers that both Biden and Clinton had. Biden prevailed by 42,000 votes in three states, while Clinton was defeated. Karl Rove pointed out that while these were national averages, swing state polling averages might be more important. Kamala Harris can win the US Presidential elections on vibes — and Donald Trump knows it
Republicans who see Vice President Kamala Harris’ rise in the polls have a simple message for former President Donald Trump — stick to policy and you can win. The problem is their candidate is Donald Trump, and Trump, who beat policy wonk Hillary Clinton in 2016, knows that in a contest between white papers and vibes — which is really just cooler shorthand for emotion and feeling — vibes usually carry the day. (Clinton also famously lost to Barack Obama in 2008 in a contest not over minuscule policy differences but over vibes.) This exchange between the former president and South Carolina Senator and Trump superfan Lindsey Graham was telling: “President Trump can win this election. His policies are good for America, and if you have a policy debate for president, he wins.” Graham told Kristen Welker last week on NBC’s Meet the Press. “Donald Trump the provocateur, the showman, may not win this election.” (Trump, in a policy debate, LOL).

Trump reportedly used a slur against Kamala Harris in private conversations
Trump reportedly has used a slur often targeted at women to describe Vice President Kamala Harris during at least two private conversations. His campaign denies it. The New York Times cited two people who, on different occasions, heard Trump call Harris a «b--.» The people were granted anonymity to describe private discussions. In response, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said, «That is not language President Trump has used to describe Kamala and it's not how the campaign would characterize her.» Trump, a Republican, has a history of making derogatory statements about women and his political opponents. He has called Harris, the Democrats' presidential candidate, and other women, including 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, «nasty,» and he bragged about grabbing women's genitalia in the infamous «Access Hollywood» tape.

US Supreme Court declines to halt Trump's sentencing in hush money case
Supreme Court on Monday rejected a bid by the state of Missouri to halt Donald Trump's upcoming sentencing for his conviction in New York on felony charges involving hush money paid to a porn star and left a related gag order until after the Nov. 5 presidential election. The decision by the justices came in response to Missouri's lawsuit claiming that the case against Trump infringed on the right of voters under the U.S. Constitution to hear from the Republican presidential nominee as he seeks to regain the White House. The Supreme Court's order was unsigned. Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito indicated they would have taken up Missouri's case but added that they «would not grant other relief.»

Slip of tongue or gaffe? Kamala Harris calls herself 'president', crowd applauds her wildly
Kamala Harris called herself 'president', the crowd went crazy and cheered her wildly. It shows how her popularity is soaring and how Democrat voters and local leaders think about her. It happened when Kamala Harris was delivering a eulogy for the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) Thursday. Standing beside stalwarts like Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris recalled that Jackson Lee introduced legislation to make Juneteenth, the day marking the end of slavery in the US – a federal holiday.

American historian who rightly called 9 out 10 Presidential elections backs Joe Biden against Donald Trump
Joe Biden has received much needed backing from an eminent American presidential historian who managed to accurately foretell outcome of nine of the past 10 American Presidential elections, as per a New York Post report. American University history professor Allan Lichtman has also advised Democratic Party leadership not to think about dropping Biden out of the Presidential election race. Lichtman also allayed fears over 81-year-old Biden's psychological fitness. While talking to CNN News Central, Lichtman cited Hillary Clinton's example as many pundits in 2016 claimed that Democratic nominee won three out of three debates and Trump's chances were thought to be diminishing. However, results of Presidential election showed that America didn't get its first women President and Trump mania roared on the ballot.

Judge delays Donald Trump's hush money sentencing to September 18
New York judge on Tuesday delayed Donald Trump's sentencing for his conviction on criminal charges stemming from hush money paid to a porn star until Sept. 18, after the former U.S. president asked for a chance to argue he should have been immune from prosecution. The sentencing had previously been set for July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention begins in Milwaukee on July 15. Trump is expected to be his party's nominee to challenge Democratic President Joe Biden in the Nov. 5 election. Trump faces an uphill battle getting the hush money conviction overturned, since much of the conduct at issue in the case predated his time in office. Trump's lawyers on Monday asked Justice Juan Merchan to allow them to argue his conviction in New York state court in Manhattan should be overturned due to the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on July 1 that presidents are entitled to immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts. Prosecutors with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office said Trump's argument was «without merit,» but agreed to delay the sentencing to give Trump the chance to make his case. A Manhattan jury on May 30 found him guilty of falsifying business records to cover up his former lawyer Michael Cohen's $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to stay quiet about an alleged 2006 sexual encounter until after the 2016 election, when Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton.

2024 US Presidential Election: Will Joe Biden replace Kamala Harris with Hillary Clinton as his running mate?
Joe Biden replace Kamala Harris with former First Lady Hilary Clinton? This question is looming large on the Democrats, the voters as well as the US political system. This has become particularly important in the wake of the increasing number of incidents that raise questions about the cognitive health of the president. The debate was once again triggered after US President appeared to lose his way during a G-7 event in the Italian city of Apulia. Joe Biden Biden wandered off and started a conversation with an officer who was packing a bag. The embarrassing situation came to such a pass that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni came forward and redirected the US president to his place among the other leaders.
