NEW DELHI : The government has hired Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to help prepare the Vision 2047 document that will set India’s medium-term goals and priorities for becoming a developed economy in the next quarter of a century, two people aware of the development said. The vision document, expected to be unveiled by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will outline an economic strategy towards becoming a middle-income nation by leveraging India’s strengths in industry, services, agriculture, trade and human capital while improving the governance systems and access to public goods. Making economic progress inclusive will be a key element of the vision document.

Bagchi informed that the humanitarian aid includes «essential life-saving medicines, surgical items, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary utilities, water purification tablets, among other necessary items». India's aid to Palestine comes three days after the PM spoke to Abbas. During their conversation on Thursday, Modi had said that India would keep sending humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians.

Siddaramaiah on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to approve the phase-3 of Bangalore Metro covering an additional length of 45-km at an estimated cost of Rs 15,611 crore. The state government has already submitted the detailed project report (DPR) of phase-3 to the centre, the CM said at the virtual launch of the two sections of the Purple Line of Namma Metro by the PM. With Challaghatta-Kengeri and Baiyappanahalli-KR Puram sections open, the metro network’s length has increased to 74-km and about seven lakh people were using it daily, the CM added. The government has commissioned a detailed project report (DPR) for connecting Sarjapur and Hebbal covering a length of 37-km.
