BJP has set a target of making one crore members in Rajasthan, the party's membership campaign state convenor Arun Chaturvedi said on Sunday. This time, along with online, members will also be made through offline mode.

Kavach that was developed in the country will now be implemented in a mission mode, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the port project at CIDCO ground in Palghar, Sonowal also said that India has earned a name as a maritime nation in the world under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has taken a slew of initiatives for the maritime sector in the last 10 years. Modi laid the foundation stone for the mega project in the presence of Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan, state chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. India confirmed on Friday that it has received an invitation from Pakistan for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting to be held in Islamabad in October. Pakistan invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to the SCO's Council of Heads of Government meeting. «Yes, we have received an invitation from Pakistan for the SCO's Council of Heads of State that is to happen. We do not have an update on that,» a spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in response to a reporter's question during his media briefing here. Pakistan holds the rotating chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) and in that capacity, will be hosting the two-day in-person SCO Heads of Government meeting in October.

BJP leaders, including Union minister Amit Shah, met at party president JP Nadda's residence here on Thursday to discuss the names of probable candidates for the upcoming Haryana assembly polls. This came ahead of the BJP's central election committee (CEC) meeting in the evening, during which the panel could finalise the names of its nominees for the polls to be held on October 1. BJP chief Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union ministers Shah and Rajnath Singh, among others, are part of the CEC. Besides Shah, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, who is the BJP's in-charge for elections in Haryana, and Manohar LaL Khattar, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and BJP Haryana unit president Mohan Lal Badoli were part of the core group meeting at Nadda's residence to scrutinise the names of probable sent from the state.

Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave nod to Rs 4,136 crore equity support to northeast states for hydropower development. «This scheme has an outlay of Rs. 4136 crore to be implemented from FY 2024-25 to FY 2031-32.

Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved 3 railway projects worth Rs 6,456 crore. The three projects covering 7 Districts in 4 States i.e., Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 300 Kms, said Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw. With these projects 14 New Stations will be constructed, providing enhancing connectivity to 2 (Two) Aspirational Districts (Nuapada and East Singhbum). New Line projects will provide connectivity to approx. 1,300 villages and about 11 Lakh population. Multi-tracking project will enhance connectivity to approx. 1,300 villages and about 19 lakh population.

To enhance and strengthen the agricultural infrastructure in the country and support the farming community, the Government has announced a series of measures to expand the scope of Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme, said Centre in a press release. Viable Farming Assets: To allow all eligible beneficiaries of scheme for creation of infrastructure covered under 'viable projects for building community farming assets'.

Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has achieved a milestone of a total of 53.13 crores PMJDY accounts out of which 55.6 per cent (29.56 crores) Jan-Dhan account holders are women and 66.6 per cent (35.37 crores) Jan Dhan accounts are in rural and semi-urban areas, the Ministry of Finance said in statement on Wednesday. Deposit balances under PMJDY Accounts stand at Rs. 2,31,236 crore. Deposits have increased about 15 times with an increase in accounts 3.6 times, as of 14 August 2024. The average deposit per account, according to the finance ministry stood at Rs. 4,352, as of 14 August 2024. The deposit per account has increased 4 times over August 15.

We learnt that a large number of our youths are eagerly ready to enter politics. All they are looking for is the right opportunity and apt guidance,» he said.

India and Singapore has set the stage for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city-state that will happen soon, its Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan has said. Senior ministers from the two countries held a «productive» round of discussions at the second multi-ministerial roundtable here and explored how the two countries can boost bilateral cooperation in digital, skill development, sustainability, healthcare, connectivity and advanced manufacturing. This was the second time that ministers from Singapore and India met at the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) after its inaugural edition was launched in September 2022 by then Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during a five-day visit to India. Balakrishnan said advanced manufacturing and semiconductors, as well as aviation and maritime connectivity, are the new areas that Singapore and India have added to a high-level platform for discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

BJP on Sunday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the decision to bring a unified pension scheme for central government employees and hit out at the Congress, asking why it has not implemented its promise of bringing back the old pension scheme in Himachal Pradesh and other states where it is in power. Addressing a press conference at BJP headquarters here, senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad slammed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for his U-turn jibe at the Centre and said Prime Minister Modi is «sensitive» to public issues and takes decisions in public interest after careful consideration. The Modi government does not take «ad-hoc decisions», the former Union minister said and asked Kharge to tell the nation why his party has taken a «U-turn» on its poll promise of implementing the old pension scheme in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana after coming to power in these states. «The Congress has made the old pension scheme a massive issue in Indian politics over the last two years. So much so that the Congress made even Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announce during elections in Himachal Pradesh that the party will implement the old pension scheme in the state if voted to power,» Prasad said
