Doval met Putin at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St Petersburg on the margins of a conclave of the (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) grouping. «As the prime minister told you during a telephone talk that he was keen to brief you about his visit to Ukraine and his meeting with President Zelenskyy. He (PM Modi) wanted me to come and personally brief you about the talks,» Doval told the Russian President. The NSA said the Modi-Zelenskyy talks were in a very «close format».

United States will host a meeting of the Quad on September 21, according to a release from the White House. US President Joe Biden will host the fourth in-person meet of the group — consiting of India, Australia and Japan — in Wilmington, Delaware. «The President looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio of Japan,» the White House release said. Northeast Students' Organisation (NESO) on Thursday urged the Prime Minister and Home Minister to urgently intervene in the Manipur situation. NESO is an apex body of eight students' organisations representing seven NE states. The organisation claimed that the failure to address the ethnic conflict not only undermines the stability of Manipur but also poses a threat to the broader peace and security of the entire northeast region.

The Centre has allocated Rs 10,900 crore for two years for the PM E-Drive scheme which will subsidise electric two wheelers, three wheelers, and buses.
