Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running a «school of corruption» in the country where he himself is teaching under the subject 'Entire Corruption Science". In a post on X, Rahul said that the BJP has made this course mandatory for its leaders. «Narendra Modi is running a 'school of corruption' in the country! Where under the subject 'Entire Corruption Science', he himself is teaching each chapter including 'donation business' in detail,» he said.

Harak Singh Rawat's daughter-in-law and model Anukriti Gusain joined the BJP on Sunday. Gusain (30) had contested the 2022 Uttarakhand Assembly elections on a Congress ticket. The BJP's Uttarakhand unit chief Mahendra Bhatt handed over the party's primary membership to Gusain at the its headquarters. Gusain left the Congress before the Lok Sabha elections and released a video message appealing to the public to vote for the BJP and make Narendra Modi the prime minister once again.

INDIA bloc has done well in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls held across the country on April 19, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh claimed on Sunday. Singh has been fielded by the Congress from his home turf Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh. «Good news is coming for INDIA bloc from several places in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls. BJP is not getting the success they expected in their strongholds. They are nervous,» Singh told reporters in Ajgari village, which is part of Chachoda assembly segment under Rajgarh LS seat. He claimed Union Minister and BJP heavyweight Nitin Gadkari «is in trouble» in Nagpur, though he did not elaborate. Two-time MP Gadkari is pitted against the Congress' Vikas Thakre in Nagpur Lok Sabha seat. The BJP used to speak about «Congress-mukt Bharat» but the ruling party itself has become «Congress-yukt» as half of its candidates in the general elections are defectors from the grand old party, the former MP chief minister claimed.

BJP leader during a poll debate organised by a national news channel in Madhya Pradesh's Tikamgarh, police said on Sunday. The police have arrested one person in connection with the incident that occurred at a ground in Nazarbag where a news channel organised a debate on Saturday night, an official said. Representatives from the BJP and Congress, among others, participated in the debate, he said. The accused, Himanshu Tiwari and Babar, allegedly raised slogans against the BJP and made objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kotwali police station in-charge Anand Raj said.

THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) is setting up a 1,320 megawatt (2X660 MW) Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) at Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh (UP), the official said in reply to a query about the company's plans of setting up coal-based capacities. At present, the Uttarakhand-based entity has an installed power generation capacity of around 1,587 MW, of which 1,424 MW is hydro, 113 MW wind and 50 MW solar. When asked about the timeline of the project, the official said «The work is going on in full swing. We are confident of making the first unit of 660 MW operational by September this year and the second unit operational by March 2025. It is a project of around Rs 12,000 crore.»

Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday said the Centre has tailored policies to make India an attractive destination for manufacturing and services, and the aim was to produce not just for the domestic market but for exports as well.
