Premier Li Qiang will be representing China during the G20 meet set to be held between 9-10 September in national capital Delhi. Further, Russia's President Vladimir Putin has also decided to skip the G20 Summit meet in Delhi.

The minister said this commitment is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision that «India has emerged as Vishwa Mitra (universal friend) and India's greatest strength is trust, our trust in each individual, trust of each individual in government, trust of each one in a bright future for the nation, and world's faith in India as well.

Premier Li Qiang will attend the G20 Summit in India which is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 in the national capital, instead of President Xi Jinping. That would make him the second major leader after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to skip the event.

G20 Summit in India next week, instead of President Xi Jinping who is going to skip the conclave, said people familiar with the development on Saturday. “The Chinese President is not traveling to India for the G20 Summit. Premier Li is likely to represent China at the Summit," said one of the people cited above on the condition of anonymity.
