Completely wrong to misinterpret apex court order on Kejriwal: Kiren Rijiju
interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money-laundering case, after the AAP termed it a «victory of truth» and «defeat of the BJP's conspiracy». The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to Kejriwal in a money laundering case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the alleged excise policy scam but he will remain in jail as the CBI had arrested him in a related matter. A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta referred to a larger bench, preferably of five judges, for in-depth consideration of three questions on the aspect of «need and necessity of arrest» under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Rijiju said, «There are reports that Kejriwal has got relief. This is not true. The Supreme Court has vindicated the action taken by the ED.»

ITR filing: How to check income tax refund status online
income tax refund after you file the income tax return (ITR) for that year. However, the income tax refund will only be issued after the tax department processes your ITR and sends you an intimation notice confirming it. This intimation notice is issued under section 143 (1) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This year, the returns need to be filed for FY 2023-24 (AY 2024-25) with the current deadline being July 31, 2024. The refund for income tax is processed by the State Bank of India (SBI) and is directly deposited into the bank account that the taxpayer has designated in their ITR at the time of filing. Therefore, it is crucial to double-check that the correct bank account number and IFS code have been provided. Additionally, it is important to have the bank account pre-validated on the government's new income tax e-filing portal and to link the PAN with the bank account. Science historian Daisy Hildyard shows us where we are headed
The Second Body, an odd gem of a book by the science historian, Daisy Hildyard, which was published in 2017. I read it in a day, in a state of feverish excitement, savouring one of those rare encounters with an author who dares to strip away the film of familiarity from their readers’ eye, forcing them to see what has remained long unseen. A curious mix of cultural history, investigative journalism and philosophical analysis, it’s hard to classify The Second Body.

Pakistan defense minister vows ‘no cake and pastries’ for TTP militants, after apparent China's warning
Khawaja Asif, has confirmed that the country will persist in launching military strikes against Afghanistan to counter terrorism. Speaking to BBC, he emphasized that these operations are a necessary response to attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians, stating, «We won’t serve them with cake and pastries.» Instead, he said, Pakistan is prepared to retaliate forcefully against any aggression. The aerial strikes, part of a broader military campaign called «Resolve for Stability,» are aimed at militant groups that Pakistan accuses of operating from Afghan soil. Relations between the two countries have deteriorated, with Islamabad accusing Kabul of not doing enough to curb these militant groups, particularly the Pakistani Taliban or TTP, which allegedly have sanctuaries in Afghanistan. Pakistan's government maintains that its military actions are justified and necessary to safeguard its national security. Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021. Pakistan alleges that despite its repeated requests, the Afghan Taliban has been reluctant to take action against the TTP, which has been using Afghan territory to launch attacks on Pakistan. Asif asserted that Pakistan's strikes are a direct response to these threats, dismissing concerns over the legality of the operations and stating that informing the Taliban of impending attacks would compromise the element of surprise.

Tesla investors to urge judge to reject record $7 billion legal fee in Elon Musk pay case
Tesla shareholders will appear in court on Monday to argue that an unprecedented request for more than $7 billion in attorneys' fees to be paid by the company is «outlandish,» the latest twist in a legal showdown over Musk's $56 billion pay package. The record fee request was made by investor Richard Tornetta on behalf of three law firms that represented him, including Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann. Tornetta owned nine shares of Tesla when he sued over Musk's pay package of stock options in 2018, a legal battle he ultimately won in January when the package was voided.

2 top stock recommendations from Rajesh Palviya for next week
«So, the way broader market is participating, sectorial rotation is happening, now the IT is on the front seat for this rally, so the way market is doing the sector rotation that is clearly giving us confidence that ahead of budget maybe we can see further higher level towards 25,000 level also,» says Rajesh Palviya, Axis Securities. Nifty at 24,500, over the beginning of the week these levels seemed difficult to reach but now see where we have closed for the week. So, first question to you is do you think this rally that we have seen is sustainable going before the budget, do you think we could see these kind of moves leading all the way to the budget and second I also want to get your view on what Nifty IT is doing because it is at a four-month high this week, so what are your levels that you are watching out for both Nifty as well as Nifty IT. Rajesh Palviya: Yes, we believe that this momentum can extend further towards the budget, the way short covering action has been there in most of the call writers for 24,500, 24,550, even 24,600 strike so that is clearly showing us that this rally can extend further and possibly we may see a target towards 24,800 to 25,000 also ahead of budget because whatever minor dip which we have witnessed in this week that was again the fresh buying action has been there in the market and only we have seen a 200 point kind of dip in the market and then again now we are back to all-time high trajectory for the Nifty.

SAT orders Religare to apply with Sebi for open offer by Burmans
Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) on Wednesday directed Religare Enterprises (REL) to apply with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) for the open offer made by the Burman family to raise its stake in the company. The tribunal, which hears appeals against the Sebi orders, however, stayed the show cause notice issued by the capital markets regulator to the financial services company and its board. In June, Sebi had asked Religare to apply with it the open offer proposal by the Burman family to purchase an additional 26% stake from the firm's public shareholders. Religare approached SAT against the Sebi directive.
