Bulldozer will roll if needed: Fadnavis; 'Will recover Nagpur violence damage cost from rioters'
Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that the bulldozer will roll if necessary when asked if perpetrators of violence in Nagpur will face the «Uttar Pradesh style» action. Addressing the media, he said the government would recover the cost of property damaged during the violence from rioters, and if they failed to compensate, their properties would be seized and sold to recover the losses. Replying to a query whether "bulldozer action" will be initiated against rioters in Nagpur on the lines of Uttar Pradesh, Fadnavis said, «The Maharashtra government has its own style of working....bulldozer will roll when necessary». «Wherever wrong things are happening, they will be crushed. Nobody (perpetrators) will be spared,» he added. He emphasised that strict action would be taken against those who attacked police officers during the unrest. Fadnavis stressed that the incident cannot be termed «intelligence failure», but the intelligence (gathering) could have been better. «Police will be alert. We won't tolerate any kind of disturbance».

Delimitation row: At Stalin-organised inter-party meet, Telangana CM Reddy claims "north will make us secondary citizens"
delimitation of parliamentary seats, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday convened the first Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting of several states to rally support for opposing the plan. The meeting, held in Chennai, marked the beginning of a coordinated effort to safeguard India’s federal structure, which, according to Stalin, is under threat. Describing the gathering as a «historic day» for India's federal system, Stalin emphasized that the struggle would likely extend to the legal realm. He stated, «Today will be etched in history as the day when states that have contributed to our nation's development came together to safeguard its federal structure by ensuring #FairDelimitation.» The event saw a notable presence of political leaders and chief ministers from Kerala, Telangana, Punjab, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, all of whom voiced concerns about the Centre’s proposal. Stalin introduced the meeting with a call for unity, urging the states to fight for a «fair» and equitable delimitation process that wouldn’t undermine their representation. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy echoed these sentiments, arguing that if the proposed delimitation, which is based on population numbers, were implemented, it would marginalize southern states. «If this happens, the north will make us secondary citizens,» Reddy said.

Delimitation row: DMK-led Joint Action Committee tells Centre to freeze Parliamentary constituencies by 25 more years
Parliamentary constituencies, based on the 1971 Census population, by another 25 years and decided that MPs would submit a joint representation to press for demands to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ongoing Parliamentary session. A resolution adopted in the JAC meeting said that any delimitation exercise carried out by the union government to improve the «content and character» of democracy should be carried out transparently, enabling political parties of all the states, state governments and other stakeholders to deliberate, discuss and contribute. «Given the fact that the legislative intent behind the 42nd, 84th and 87th Constitutional amendments was to protect / incentivise states which have implemented population control measures effectively and the goal of national population stabilisation has not yet been achieved, the freeze on Parliamentary constituencies based on 1971 Census Population, should be extended by another 25 years,» it said. The states which have effectively implemented the population control programme and consequently whose population share has come down, should not be penalised and the Centre must enact necessary constitutional amendments for this purpose. «The core committee consisting of Members of Parliament from the represented states will coordinate the parliamentary strategies to counter any attempts by the union government to undertake any delimitation exercise contrary to the principles mentioned above. The core committee of MPs shall submit a joint representation on the above lines to the Prime Minister of India during the ongoing Parliamentary session,» the resolution said.

Bengaluru’s 'fake cop' nabbed after the 10th grade dropout conned city's couples for 15 years
Posing as a police officer, he preyed on unsuspecting lovers seeking a quiet moment in their cars near parks and lakes, threatening them with charges of “public indecency” and extorting money, TOI reported. For years, Khan operated undetected, his act so convincing that victims rarely questioned his authority. With a stern voice and a fake police demeanor, he would approach couples, give threats of legal action, and demand money to let them go. Many, too scared to challenge him, complied—handing over cash, jewelry, and ATM withdrawals to escape humiliation. His latest victim, a 41-year-old private firm employee, fell into his trap on March 5 near RV Metro Station in Jayanagar. Sitting in his car with a female colleague, the man was suddenly approached by a bike-borne Khan, who claimed they were violating public decency laws.

Is America on the brink? Legal experts warn Donald Trump’s attack on judge could push U.S toward a full-blown constitutional crisis
Trump administration and federal judges over immigration policies, funding disputes, and enforcement of court orders are pushing the U.S. toward a constitutional crisis. Recent defiance of judicial rulings—such as proceeding with deportations despite a judge’s intervention—has intensified fears about the erosion of checks and balances. Legal scholars emphasize that ignoring court mandates undermines the judiciary’s role, creating a volatile standoff between the executive branch and the rule of law.

Swiggy Instamart to deliver a month’s worth of ration instead of free “dhaniya”. What started as a playful banter quickly turned into something serious leaving the user in disbelief. Gopesh Khetan playful teased a quick commerce service, Swiggy Instagram for sending coriander leaves as a freebie. He instead challenged them to send a month’s worth of ration. He wrote, “Bhai @SwiggyInstamart, kya free ka dhaniya bhejte rehte ho? Dum hai toh mahine bhar ka ration bhejwa ke dikhao (Swiggy Instamart, you keep sending free coriander. If you have the guts, send a month’s worth of rations)." Instead of dismissing Gopesh’s teasing, Swiggy Instamart responded, “Note aur pen leke taiyaar hoon, batao kya kya chahiye ( I am ready with a note and pen, tell me what all you need).” But thing turned completely serious, when the quick commerce fulfilled the promise and delivered a package of month’s supplies which included instant noodles, a loaf of bread, chips, makahana and Rooh Afza among many other items.

'Adopt or don't feed': Delhi resident calls dog-lovers the 'worst' and sparks debate on feeding strays
Delhi resident recently shared his frustration about dog lovers, expressing that if someone truly cares for dogs, they should adopt them rather than just feed them. His concerns arose after a stray dog bit his house help, a dog that his neighbour regularly feeds outside the Redditor’s doorstep. He took to social media to voice his opinion, warning about the risks associated with feeding stray dogs, particularly the threat of diseases they may carry. He highlighted that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred in his locality. Several housemaids and delivery personnel had already been bitten before, and in one unfortunate case, a woman lost her life due to a dog attack. The situation has left him deeply concerned about the safety of people in his building, especially those who rely on daily wages to support their families. The resident also pointed out the dangers of rabies, emphasizing that even with vaccinations, the disease remains fatal. He urged people to be more responsible when feeding stray dogs, suggesting that if they must provide food, they should do so away from residential areas to prevent the risk of attacks.
