After a strong rally in midcap and smallcap stocks in the last one year, one might on the face of it, tend to believe that switching to largecaps is ideal. But, from a valuation standpoint, the midcap and smallcap indices are still trading well below their historical averages, says Pawan Bharadia, managing director, Equitree Capital Advisors. While there is exuberance in some pockets of mid and smallcaps, there are enough and more opportunities within the smallcap space where valuations are reasonable and may continue to generate alpha returns even from hereon, Bharadia said. Edited excerpts from an interview with ETMarkets: Is it time to switch to largecaps, or is there more steam left in the midcap and smallcap space? Midcaps and smallcaps indices have had a good run over the last year, delivering 40-44% returns, whereas the Nifty has given a somber 9% return only over the same period.

AIFs for startups, SMEs: Alternative investment firm focusing on startups and SMEs Anicut Capital, on Tuesday, announced it has received a commitment of over Rs 30 crore from the asset management company HDFC AMC’s Fund of Fund with a likely additional allocation in the near future. According to a release by Anicut Capital, the investment will be made from HDFC AMC’s Select AIF FOF-I, which invests in category I and II venture capital/private equity-oriented AIFs

Digital asset manager Valkyrie Investments is the latest firm to amend the spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund (ETF) filing with the United States securities regulators.

China Reform Holdings Corp, a Chinese manager of state assets, plans to raise at least 100 billion yuan ($13.70 billion) for a fund that will invest in emerging industries, the China Business News reported on Sunday. The fund has already received investment intentions from more than 20 central government-owned enterprises as well as local governments and private investors, and will start operating by the end of this year, the newspaper said. China's state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have been ramping up investment in emerging and strategic industries such as artificial intelligence, new energy, new materials and biotech as part of Beijing's SOE reforms. China Reform Holdings was set up in 2021 and tasked with deepening SOE reforms.

Not necessarily.

crypto investment platform provider Mudrex aims to become the largest crypto asset manager in the next five years. “Mudrex already provides investment products to about 500,000 users in India.
