ETMarkets Smart Talk: A further 8-10% correction could bring large caps to fair valuation: Sahil Kapoor of DSP MF
equity allocation might be warranted, signalling a shift away from the conservative stance that high valuations previously dictated,” says Achin Goel, PMS Fund Manager at Bonanza Group. In an interview with ETMarkets, Goel said: “A further price correction of about 8–10% from early March 2025 levels, or sequential earnings growth reflected in EPS increases—or a combination of both—could bring large caps into fair value territory,” Edited excerpts:

Pakistan train hijack: Critical phase of Baloch insurgency
Pakistan security forces on Wednesday claimed to have rescued at least 155 passengers and killed 27 Baloch rebels as the rescue operation continues into the second day after terrorists hijacked the Jaffer Express train near Balochistan’s Bolan district. Pakistan Railway officials said that around 750 passengers had booked to travel by the Jaffar Express, but the train left Quetta with around 450 people onboard. Sources said that over 200 security personnel were also travelling on the same train. Balochistan is experiencing its worst phase of insurgency of all the four phases it has witnessed since 1948, a security expert told ET. This phase could be the defining moment in Balochistan’s history and its fight with Punjabi-dominated Pakistan governance structure. The daring nature of the hijack reflects a major Intelligence failure of the ISI and Pakistan Army, a source pointed out. Chinese reaction to the incident will be keenly watched. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has threatened to execute ten Pakistani hostages following drone strikes and artillery shelling by Pakistani forces amid the ongoing hostage crisis in Balochistan’s Bolan district.

Everything bubble is bursting, this crash may be biggest in history: Robert Kiyosaki
Robert Kiyosaki of 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' fame has sounded an alarm on the ongoing stock market correction warning investors that the «crash» could be the biggest in the history of US markets and could surpass the one seen in 1929 which led to the Great Depression. On Tuesday, Kiyosaki tweeted, «THE EVERYTHING BUBBLE is bursting. I am afraid this crash may be the biggest in history. Germany, Japan, and America have been the engines up to now. Unfortunately our incompetent leaders led us into a trap….giant crash. I wrote about this crash in my book RICH DAD’s PROPHECY. This crash is going to be bigger than the 1929 Crssh…. A crash that led to the Great Depression».

Canada incoming PM says he'll keep tariffs in place until US shows respect and commits to free trade
Carney, who will be sworn in as Justin Trudeau's replacement in the coming days, said Trump's latest tariffs are an attack on Canadian workers, families, and businesses. «My government will ensure our response has maximum impact in the U.S. and minimal impact here in Canada, while supporting the workers impacted,» Carney said. He added: «My government will keep our tariffs on until the Americans show us respect and make credible, reliable commitments to free and fair trade.» Trump said Tuesday that he will double his planned tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25% to 50% for Canada, escalating a trade war with the United States' northern neighbor and showing an indifference to recent stock market turmoil and rising recession risks.

Southwest Airlines breaks with another tradition and checked bags will cost you now
Southwest Airlines said Tuesday that it will begin charging customers a fee to check bags, abandoning a decades-long practice that executives had described last fall as key to differentiating the budget carrier from its rivals. Southwest, which built years of advertising campaigns around its policy of letting passengers check up to two bags for free, said people who haven't either reached the upper tiers of its Rapid Rewards loyalty program, bought a business class ticket or hold the airline's credit card will have to pay for checked bags. The airline did not outline the fee schedule but said the new policy would start with May 28 bookings.

Puneet Pal advises investors to brace for RBI rate cut, falling bond yields in April- Here’s what they should do?
Indian bond market remains steady as investors anticipate a potential rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in April, following a series of aggressive liquidity measures. Puneet Pal, Head-Fixed Income at PGIM India Mutual Fund believes that with an expected sub-4% CPI print, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is likely to lower rates in its upcoming meeting. “The RBI has taken aggressive and proactive steps to augment domestic liquidity, and given the likelihood of a sub-4% CPI print this week, we expect another rate cut in the MPC meeting in April,” he said in a note.
