Career film blues stars reports donates Videos ‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga goes bald, donates hair to temple
Telugu director Sandeep Reddy Vanga looked unrecognisable as he appeared bald in some recent pictures. Vanga, who delivered a huge hit last year- the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ struck gold at the box-office and crossed Rs 900 crore, was seen visiting the famed Tirumala Temple in Andhra Pradesh. He appeared completely bald and the pictures have since gone viral. According to an Indian Express report, the ‘Kabir Singh’ director offered his hair to the deity as a gesture of thanks for the Rs 900 cr blockbuster. In a video that is currently doing the rounds, he is seen wearing a dark blue kurta and a pink scarf. He appears to have removed his thick hair and beard. The director also posed with some fans and talked about his next project — ‘Spirit’ with the ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas. Like ‘Animal’, ‘Spirit’ will also be produced by T-Series. With the success of ‘Kabir Singh’ and now ‘Animal’, Vanga has established himself as a box-office force to reckon with in Bollywood. However, he has also undergone severe criticism for glorifying violence, toxic masculinity, and misogyny against women in his films. Recently, veteran Bollywood screenwriter Javed Akhtar called the Kapoor-starrer “dangerous,” as it had a scene in which the protagonist is seen ordering a woman to lick his shoe. Vanga retorted that ‘Mirzapur’, a film produced by his son Farhan was no less violent.
