Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that in sectors such as airports, ports and cement, companies competing with the Adani Group for prized assets have faced CBI, ED and Income Tax raids «that have dissuaded them from proceeding with their bids, and the assets have ultimately gone to Adani». «In our Hum Adani ke Hain Kaun (HAHK) series of 100 questions for Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi, the Congress party had pointed out how the Adani Group has repeatedly profited from well-timed, Modi-made raids by investigative agencies on its business competitors,» he said in a statement.

New Delhi: Union minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a total of 135 cases against various civil service officers over the last five years. The cases were registered during the years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and up to 30 June 2023.

Jain community on Monday held a protest at Jantar Mantar here against the killing of a monk in Karnataka, demanding a CBI investigation into the incident. Jain monk Acharya Shree Kamakumara Nandi Maharaj was found murdered in Belagavi district earlier this month. The butchered body parts were found in the well in Chikkodi taluk of the district. Two persons were arrested for the crime, which police suspected was linked to a money dispute. Addressing the people who had gathered at Jantar Mantar, Jain monk Charukirti Swami from Karnataka said that their protest was not against any political party and they want parties to come together and help them get justice in this case. Another protester Jinendra Kumar Jain alleged there was no help from the Congress government in Karnataka. «We are protesting against Maharaj's killing. We are here to demand justice for the entire Jain community,» he said. Participating in the protest, BJP Rajya Sabha Anil Jain demanded that there should be a CBI investigation into the gruesome murder, adding that monks and saints should be protected in the Congress-ruled Karnataka. The search for missing Acharya Shree Kamakumara Nandi Maharaj in Belagavi district ended earlier this month with the recovery of his body parts from an open defunct borewell in a field at Katakabavi in Raibag taluk of the district.

CBI court here on Saturday set aside a magistrate's order taking of cognisance of the chargesheet filed against fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi in a loan fraud case amounting to more than Rs 22 crore. Supreme Court on Friday sought responses of the CBI and the ED by July 28 on interim bail pleas of AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi excise policy case. New Delhi:  The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today said it arrested the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Tirupati Infraprojects Pvt. Ltd, Jag Mohan Garg, in a bank fraud case amounting to  ₹289.15 crore to a consortium of banks, the agency said in a statement.   The Investigation agency registered a case on 25 May 2022 against the said private company, its CMD, Directors, Guarantors and public & private persons on a complaint filed by the consortium of banks led by Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda & UCO Bank.  The agency in the statement added that the consortium of said banks led by Bank of India had granted Term Loan of ₹300 crore to the borrower company between year 2009 and 2014 for construction of a Hotel in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi, alongwith commercial spaces.
