With the deadline for complying with 60 per cent use of Kannada in signboards of businesses and establishments coming to an end, a vast majority of them in the city appear to have obeyed the mandate, with many even going for stopgap arrangements, aimed at ensuring compliance. A bill mandating 60 per cent use of Kannada in signboards of businesses and establishments was passed by the Karnataka Assembly in February, and the government had warned that non-compliance would lead to the cancellation of the licences of businesses. Now, temporary boards or banners instead of boards that are rules compliant, and also clothes or stickers covering the old boards, can be seen at several places in the city, in a bid to avoid fines and other penal action.

Citroen on Thursday said it plans to scale up the sales network in India to over 200 outlets by the end of this year, a three-fold jump from its existing touchpoints. The addition of new dealerships, across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets will significantly increase the company's footprint from its existing 58 outlets spread across India, Citroen India said in a statement. Godrej Properties, the real estate development arm of Godrej Group, has acquired over 3-acres land parcel in Hyderabad’s Kokapet locality. This is the second land parcel acquired by the company in Hyderabad, taking its overall development revenue potential to Rs 4,800 crore in the city. The land has a total development potential of 1.2 million sq ft of saleable area and the company is planning to develop a premium residential project here with an estimated booking value of Rs 1,300 crore. This acquisition is in line with Godrej Properties’ strategy of developing high-quality residential projects across India's leading real estate markets.
