The collector has advised citizens to avoid going out of the house, not to take shelter under trees, and not attempt to cross the flooded and overflowing rivers, creeks and streams. The advisory also asked citizens not to venture into the water bodies, and not to carry any metallic object with them when moving out.

Senior Citizen Fixed Deposit interest rate hike (July 20e3): Senior Citizens can get 7.6% interest on deposits of 375 days in IDBI Bank. This is a new FD scheme, named ‘Amrit Mahotsav FD’, launched by the IDBI Bank this month, effective from July 14. The special scheme will be available till August 15, 2023.

IDBI Bank has introduced a special fixed deposit (FD) scheme for a limited period only.  The new scheme of 375 days is effective from July 14, 2023. On a special maturity bucket of 375 days, IDBI Bank offers an interest rate of 7.10% for the general public and 7.60% for senior citizens.

Axis Bank has hiked the fixed deposit interest rate on one tenure by 10 basis points (bps)for amounts below Rs 2 crore. The new rate is effective from July 17, 2023, according to the bank’s website.
