markets Analysis BlackRock Trade President country India can benefit from current geopolitical complexity, if it plays the game skillfully: Ben Powell, BlackRock
Ben Powell, Chief Investment Strategist for APAC, BlackRock Investment Institute, says we are going to see more and more tie-ups between governments, in terms of legal framework, regulatory permissions, and societal buy-ins. A partnership between governments and private capital is important because many Western countries do not have so much fiscal firepower. Coming to India, Powell says the BRICS meeting is going on in Russia and we have seen Prime Minister Modi embracing President Putin. Modi will also be sitting down with President Xi later today., India seems to be in a amazing position where on the one hand it is a cherished partner of the BRICS with huge positives, obviously energy and other dimensions and on the other hand, India is an absolute cornerstone of US policy, most obviously through Quad. What is the future of finance going to look like and how can investors benefit out of it? Ben Powell: The need to mobilise capital and fund all of the aspirations is the practical reality.

BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the importance of a united front against terrorism and terror financing. “In order to counter terrorism and terror financing, we need the single-minded, firm support of all. There is no place for double standards on this serious matter,” he said. Modi called for coordinated action to prevent youth radicalization, warning that failing to act could worsen the threat. He further emphasized the need to move forward on the «long pending matter in the UN of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.» Modi’s comments come against the backdrop of ongoing tensions within BRICS member countries. SPY Battlefield country reports Videos US Defence Secretary Austin confirms North Korea sent troops to Russia
US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said there is evidence that North Korea has sent troops to Russia on Monday, and South Korea's spy chief told lawmakers that 3,000 North Korean troops are in the country receiving training on drones and other equipment before being deployed to battlefields in Ukraine. Austin told reporters Wednesday «What exactly they are doing? Left to be seen. These are things that we need to sort out,» according to a video posted by the Washington Post. If the troops join the war in Ukraine on Russia's side, it will be «a very, very serious issue,» Austin said, adding it would have an impact in Europe and in the Indo-Pacific region. South Korean intelligence first publicized reports that the Russian navy had taken 1,500 North Korean special warfare troops to Russia last week, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier said his government had intelligence that 10,000 North Korea soldiers were being prepared to join the invading Russian forces.
