UK is facing an uphill battle to attract foreign skilled workers
Of all the clicks on British job postings from workers abroad, only a fifth were on high-wage jobs, or postings offering the upper third of wages, according to data covering the first six months of the year from job-search website Indeed. Only Spain had a smaller proportion among 10 advanced economies analysed. Foreigners have a strong urge to work in the UK but they are not the kind of workers the government wants. The lowest-paid jobs attracted 40% of clicks from abroad, casting doubt over the Conservatives’ policies to discourage low-skill migration.

UP boy expelled for bringing non-veg biryani gets new school, administration to waive Rs 37,000 in fees
Hilton Public School in Amroha for allegedly bringing non-vegetarian biryani in his lunchbox, will be transferred to a new school along with his two siblings. The decision comes after their mother opted to move them to another institution, with the education department covering the cost of their enrolment. Hilton Public School has also agreed to waive the outstanding fees of Rs 37,000. Following an administrative inquiry on Tuesday, the principal was cleared of any wrongdoing, with officials stating that the viral video of the incident had been «edited.» Despite this, the school management has removed the principal from the position while an internal investigation is still ongoing. Amroha's District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Vishnu Pratap Singh, confirmed that the government is facilitating the transfer process. «We’ve spoken with both the school management and the boy’s mother, and both have agreed to the transfer. The education department is working to ensure the children are enrolled in a new school, and once the transfer certificates are issued, the process will move forward,» he said.

GST exemption to foreign airlines will burnish India’s image: IATA director general
Willie Walsh, director general of International Air Transport Association (IATA) said. Giving a major relief to foreign airlines, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council on Monday decided to exempt import of services by an establishment of a foreign airline. The relief was given citing that Indian carriers get similar tax benefits abroad. “The issue was becoming concerning for the airlines. But with this change in regulation, it looks to be very optimistic for India,” Walsh said on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation being held at New Delhi.

RBI fines HDFC, Axis Bank for non-compliance with regulations
Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of ₹1.91 crore on Axis Bank and ₹1 crore on HDFC Bank for non-compliance with regulations. Both banks opened certain savings deposit accounts in the name of ineligible entities. The monetary penalty on Axis Bank pertains to violations done in FY23. The bank allotted multiple customer identification codes to certain customers instead of a unique customer identification code for each customer and obtained collateral security for agricultural loans up to ₹1.60 lakh in certain cases. Besides, Axis Bank's wholly-owned subsidiary undertook business as a technology service provider, which is a violation of the Banking Regulation Act.
