Attack on Donald Trump compared to Ronald Reagan's assassination attempt. Former Secret Service agent who saved Reagan said this
Donald Trump a security lapse? Though there is no foolproof security anywhere in the world, the question being asked is why it happened, and how it can be prevented in the future. Also, it was not the first assassination attempt on a former president or an incumbent one. Ronald Reagan was attacked in 1981 when he was the US president. Former Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy, who defended Reagan from a gunman, has compared the recent assassination attempt to the Reagan shooting. Talking to the local television channel 'WGN News', he said that it was a plain and simple security failure. He added that when President Regan was shot, that was also a failure.
