False GPS signal surge makes life hard for pilots
GPS signals that deceive on-board plane systems and complicate the work of airline pilots are surging near conflict zones, industry employees and officials told AFP. A ground collision alert sounds in the cockpit, for instance, even though the plane is flying at high altitude — a phenomenon affecting several regions and apparently of military origin. This includes the vicinity of Ukraine following the Russian invasion two years ago, the eastern Mediterranean and the air corridor running above Iraq, according to pilots and officials interviewed by AFP.

Offbeat Bucket List: Tourism departments promote unique travel experiences across India
skydiving in Madhya Pradesh, exploring a “seabeach” in Rajasthan or going on a temple trail in Goa? You could even board a special tourist train to cover lesser-known spots in Uttarakhand. State tourism departments across the country are working on promoting new destinations and activities in a bid to attract more travellers, said officials. While Goa, for instance, wants tourists to explore more of the coastal state beyond its beaches, Rajasthan wants to develop destinations other than forts and palaces, they said.

Karnataka aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2032 by growing at a sustained rate of 18%, Industries minister MB Patil said on Monday. The state, he said, would soon bring out a new clean mobility policy that would make the state a premier destination for EV manufacturing. Patil, who was speaking at the inauguration of the 54th World Trade Centre Association (WTCA) Global Business forum, said that the state’s Industrial Policy for the period 2020-25 provided multiple financial incentives to create favourable economics for investors. “Karnataka is also partnering with technology companies to leverage industry 4.0 technologies and the state will drive automation and develop AI-powered subscription products or services,” he added. This was the first edition of the summit in Karnataka and the second held in India. The event, jointly organised by the New York World Trade Centers Association and Bengaluru World Trade Centers Association, was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Unlocking investment opportunities: Leveraging IBC to enhance India's global appeal
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) has emerged as a pivotal tool in India's quest to bolster its attractiveness to global investors. By streamlining the process of resolving insolvency cases, the IBC not only facilitates the efficient allocation of capital but also instils confidence in investors regarding the robustness of India's legal and regulatory framework. The Supreme Court recently noted that the principle aims of the IBC are to promote investment, and resolution of insolvencies of corporate persons, firms, and individuals in a time bound manner. The IBC consolidated and amended a web of laws which had led to an ineffective and inefficient mechanism for resolution of insolvencies marked with significant delays. One of the key aspects that enhances India's global appeal is the IBC's provision for cross-border insolvency cases. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code contains provisions enabling cross-border insolvency cases through bilateral agreements and the issuance of letters of request to foreign courts by Adjudicating Authorities (AAs) under section 234 and section 235. Through bilateral agreements and the issuance of letters of request to foreign courts, the IBC enables seamless resolution of insolvency cases involving international stakeholders. This aspect is particularly significant in today's interconnected global economy, where businesses operate across borders, and investment flows transcend geographical boundaries.
