Your favourite holiday destination has become too crowded? Anand Mahindra has a travel tip
Anand Mahindra highlighted the growing frustration over India's popular beach destinations becoming overcrowded with tourists. However, the Mahindra group chairman, emphasized that India offers plenty of unexplored coastal gems, making it easy to discover new and serene beach spots. Instead of sticking to the usual tourist hotspots, Anand Mahindra encouraged travelers to expand their horizons and explore lesser-known destinations. With India’s vast coastline, there’s no shortage of beautiful beaches waiting to be added to travel bucket lists, he said. His perspective, drawing from stock market analogy, not only promotes tourism diversification but also offers a refreshing alternative for those seeking peaceful and pristine seaside escapes away from the crowds. «But the beauty of India is that there is no lack of opportunity to ‘diversify the portfolio’ of beach destinations on your bucket list,» Anand Mahindra said in a post on X.

Cash crunch stalls cocoa and coffee trading around the world
cocoa and coffee futures is leaving traders so cash-strapped that many no longer have enough money to ship the two commodities around the world. Rising prices forced traders to deposit large sums of money with the New York exchange to back their futures positions. With so much cash locked up, it’s become much harder to finance cargoes to move beans from where they are produced to where they are consumed. To make matters worse, a rising market has prompted some farmers that sold at lower prices to default, leaving traders without the supply they need. Chocolate maker Hershey Co. argues there’s a “significant disconnect” between prices in the physical and the futures market, and that a lack of liquidity is allowing for unprecedented volatility.

Frustrated by the ongoing congestion, Pai called it “a sad joke on Bengaluru,” adding that while residents may laugh at their misery, the government remains indifferent. Sharing a text reading, “Bangalore Tourism is organising a 4 day 3 nights trip to the following four destinations — Outer Ring Road, Silkboard Junction, Marathalli & HSR layout. Its called 'Chaar Jam Yatra'”, he called it a “sad joke on Bengaluru”. He further mentioned about having a sense of humour about the suffering and “an uncaring government.”

Can Trump 'take back' the Panama Canal?
Panama Canal but has not offered specifics about how he would do so. Here is an explanation of the history and laws governing the critical waterway. Why is the Panama Canal important? The Panama Canal, located at the narrowest part of the isthmus between North and South America, is one of the most strategically important waterways in the world. Last year, the canal logged 11,240 crossings totaling more than 235.5 million tons of cargo. Over two-thirds of all cargo passing through the canal today originates from, or is destined for, the U.S. If the Panama Canal were blocked or unavailable, ships would need to make the long voyage around the southern tip of South America to cross between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

J.P. Morgan economist sees 40% US recession chance and risks to 'exorbitant privilege'
recession this year and a risk of lasting damage to the country's standing as an investment destination if the administration undermines trust in U.S. governance, according to J.P. Morgan's chief economist. «Where we stand now is with a heightened concern about the U.S. economy,» Bruce Kasman, the U.S. investment bank's chief global economist, told reporters in Singapore on Wednesday. He said he has not yet revised any forecasts, but put a roughly 40% recession risk into the outlook — up from about a 30% chance he had reckoned on at the start of the year. J.P. Morgan's current forecast is for 2% U.S. GDP growth this year. U.S. stocks have suffered their sharpest selloff in months over recent days as investors have grown nervous that President Donald Trump will slow the economy with import duties. Ninety-five percent of economists polled by Reuters last week across Canada, Mexico and the U.S. said recession risks in their economies had increased as a result of Trump's tariffs.
