India1 Payments, in which ICICI Ventures has about 49% stake, is promoted by Australia’s Banktech group. The company plans to leverage its customer base using its white-label ATM platform by being an account aggregator and connecting those interested in small-ticket loans with the potential lender. This could earn the company a fee-based income for the concluded transactions. The company will also continue to expand its mainstream business of providing white-label ATMs in semi-urban and rural areas where it is already having a strong presence and increase its ATM network and expand its regional spread. India1 Payments currently manages 12,200 white-label ATMs throughout the country and plans to double the count by rolling out another 12,000 more ATMs over the next five years.

In an interview, Chandrasekhar said the government is open to the industry’s suggestion for an extended time frame but stressed that the new law will curb the exploitation of user data and make it costly for those who violate rules. NEW DELHI : The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Ltd (NIIF) has mandated global leadership advisory firm Russell Reynolds Associates to find the next managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of India’s quasi-sovereign wealth fund, two people familiar with the development said. After Sujoy Bose, who served as NIIF’s first MD & CEO for six years since 2016, quit in May, the company named Rajiv Dhar, the executive director and chief operating officer, the interim MD & CEO. In 2015, the then-department of economic affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das headed a search-cum-selection committee to select the CEO for the investment management company under NIIF.

MUMBAI : The News Broadcasters Federation (NBF), a lobby group of national and regional news broadcasters that collectively represents over 300 TV news channels, has addressed a letter to Anurag Thakur, the Minister of Information & Broadcasting, highlighting its members’ apprehensions regarding the suspension of weekly ratings for the news genre. The letter, a copy of which was accessed by Mint, alleges that a group of broadcasters is making attempts to get the news channels’ ratings suspended.
