‘They’ll be better off in India’: American woman shares 8 reasons why she’s raising kids in India
Instagram to highlight why she believes her children will have a richer childhood in India compared to the USA. She listed eight key reasons that make India an ideal place for raising kids. One of the biggest advantages, according to Kristen, is the exposure to diverse cultures, languages, and traditions. Growing up in India allows children to develop cultural awareness and adaptability, making them more open-minded and accepting of different perspectives. Additionally, India’s multilingual environment ensures that her children will learn Hindi alongside English and be exposed to various regional languages. This, she believes, will enhance their cognitive abilities, communication skills, and future career opportunities. Kristen also emphasized that growing up in India will provide her children with a broader global perspective. They will gain insights into different societal norms, regional issues, and global challenges, shaping them into more informed global citizens. Furthermore, the experience of adjusting to a new educational system and social environment will build their resilience, independence, and problem-solving skills.

Women’s participation in tech contractual roles nearly triples, but pay gap persists
While hiring policies and diversity initiatives have led to higher female participation, career progression for women remains sluggish, particularly at senior levels, found the report, Gender Parity—Shaping Workforce Equity, that analyses workforce trends across global capability centres (GCCs), IT services, and tech roles in non-tech industries. “While we celebrate the growing presence of women in tech contractual roles, we must recognise that achieving true gender parity requires sustained efforts and a multifaceted approach that transcends hiring more women,” said Neeti Sharma, chief executive of TeamLease Digital.

NDA govt attempting to shield itself from scrutiny, curtailing access to public info: Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that the Data Protection Act, 2023 curtails access to public information that is essential for citizens to hold the government accountable, and said the Congress will take necessary steps to protect people's rights. Gandhi made the assertion in a post on X after meeting a diverse group of activists, editors, researchers and domain experts in the Parliament House complex. «Today, I had the opportunity to meet a diverse group of activists, editors, researchers and domain experts in Parliament. They voiced serious concerns about the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, particularly its impact on the scope of the RTI Act,» the former Congress president said. This legislation, under the pretext of safeguarding privacy, curtails access to public information that is essential for citizens and journalists to hold the government accountable, he alleged. «The NDA government is attempting to shield itself from scrutiny, undermining transparency and weakening democratic oversight,» Gandhi claimed. In the interest of accountability and good governance, the Congress will discuss this issue with INDIA bloc leaders and take necessary steps to protect the rights of people, he said.

5 ways a non-linear career path can be rewarding
career growth followed a linear trajectory, with professionals spending years in the same industry before advancing. However, today’s job market is more dynamic, and many individuals are embracing non-linear career paths—taking breaks, switching industries, and exploring multiple roles. While unconventional, these career moves can lead to greater success, adaptability, and fulfillment when planned strategically. Here are five ways a non-linear career path can be rewarding: 1. Broader and More Diverse Skillset Switching industries and roles exposes individuals to a wide range of skills, from technical expertise to soft skills, making them highly versatile. Employers value professionals with diverse experiences, as they bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. For example, a writer with data analytics experience can leverage both skill sets to stand out in the job market. Highlighting interdisciplinary skills can position you as a valuable asset.

US bilateral trade pact round-I to focus on duty sops for goods
India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) will primarily focus on duty concessions on goods and New Delhi is hopeful of the pact bringing predictability in tariffs, regulations and investment climate, officials said on Monday. Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asia Brendan Lynch is in New Delhi starting Tuesday for three days of negotiations on the proposed trade deal. His visit comes ahead of the April 2 deadline for likely imposition of reciprocal tariffs on all countries, including India, by the Trump administration. The proposed India-US trade pact is likely to be finalised in two tranches with the first phase expected to focus on issues concerning bilateral goods trade, though full clarity on the issue will emerge by the end of this week, the officials said. They added that both sides are expected to finalise the contours, schedule of negotiations, and terms of reference of the proposed BTA during Lynch's visit. The first tranche of the deal is targeted for completion by Fall of 2025. India said it is looking forward to «productive and constructive discussions» with the incoming US delegation to «expand and deepen our bilateral trade and economic ties in a mutually beneficial manner».
