Joe Biden plans to cancel student loan debt, 23 million Americans may be impacted
Biden announced on Monday plans to ease student debt that would benefit at least 23 million Americans, addressing a key issue for young voters whose support he needs as he seeks re-election in November. The plans, which the Democratic president detailed in Madison, Wisconsin, include cancelling up to $20,000 of accrued and capitalized interest for borrowers, regardless of income, which Biden's administration estimates would eliminate the entirety of that interest for 23 million borrowers.

Opposition pushing India towards instability: PM Modi
Ayodhya Ram temple issue to reach out to the tribal community in Chhattisgarh, alleging that the Congress opposed the consecration ceremony for appeasement politics. He also slammed the Congress on the Naxal issue at a rally in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. "Ram Navami is not very far. This time in Ayodhya our Ram Lalla will not give darshan in a tent but in a grand temple. But Congress and INDI alliance is very unhappy about this. They declined the invitation for pran pratishta. The Shahi pariwar of Congress threw out those leaders who declared this wrong. This shows Congress can cross any limit for appeasement politics," Modi said at a rally in Bastar. The PM emphasised that welfare of tribals has always been a top priority for BJP. He said a tribal is the president of India today and a record number of Eklavya schools for tribals have come up during his tenure. «Our priority has always been garib kalyan… Congress always ignored the welfare of the poor,» he said.

AAP govt slams 'total confusion' in LG's office over subjects transferred to Delhi govt

The LG Secretariat, in a letter to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), said the Delhi ministers refused to attend a meeting called by Saxena to discuss the functioning of their ministries following the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. BJP hand in Congress glove
Narendra Modi's recent comparison of Congress with pre-Independence-era Muslim League is a direct attack on the GOP's credentials as sole inheritor of the freedom struggle legacy. It also tells us how far BJP has travelled to not just lay claim to this space but also is prepared to take it as its own — an effort at the heart of its revival since 2014. BJP has, over the past decade, drawn on Congress' leadership pantheon. It took advantage of the latter's tendency to predominantly play up the legacy of the Nehru-Gandhi family while paying little or no attention to the contribution of others. As result, today, BJP has acquired a reasonable degree of ownership on legacies of leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, B R Ambedkar and Subhas Chandra Bose. Congress of that era had many political strands, and each of these leaders represented one thought or the other. What BJP has done is, it has worked on owning each of them, including Mohandas Gandhi. In fact, leaving aside Jawaharlal Nehru, BJP has accepted almost all greats from the decades of the 1920s and 1930s who shaped the Independence movement.
