MET Career Fighting Election WhatsApp Mahayuti stakes claim to form govt, Fadnavis to return as CM
Devendra Fadnavis will once again take over as chief minister of Maharashtra. On Wednesday morning, Fadnavis was unanimously elected as the legislative party leader at a BJP meeting at the state legislature, paving the way for him to be the chief minister of the state a third time. Fadnavis will be sworn in on Thursday. Fadnavis' name was proposed by MLAs Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar and seconded by MLC Pankaja Munde and other members. Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman were the central observers overseeing the entire process. In his speech, Fadnavis thanked the legislators for electing him as the legislative leader. «If I have to analyse the results of this historic election, then the key message is 'Ek hai to safe hai' and 'Modi hai toh Mumkin hai',» Fadnavis told the BJP legislators. Fadnavis issued a note of caution to the BJP MLAs saying, «There are a lot of expectation from us. We have a huge mandate. We can't fulfil all the things that everyone wants. The larger goal for why we have come into politics is not for just any post or to become big. In the coming days, things will happen in our favour and things will go against us. In the larger interest, we have to work together,» Fadnavis said hinting that the BJP will also have to compromise in the interest of its two allies — Shiv Sena and NCP.

markets Career Strategy Election Experts politician For Maharashtra CM-designate Devendra Fadnavis, patience, loyalty to party leadership and strategic acumen pay off
Devendra Fadnavis, the political stalwart who rose from humble beginnings to become a key figure in Maharashtra politics, is set to become chief minister — a position he has held twice before. The 54-year-old leader, whose career has been marked by a blend of resilience and strategic manoeuvring, is positioned to lead the state for the third time following a decisive showing of the BJP in the November 20 assembly polls, and his election as leader of the state BJP legislature party on Wednesday. Fadnavis' political journey has been nothing short of remarkable. From serving as an obscure corporator to becoming the youngest mayor of Nagpur, he has strengthened his status as a prominent leader within his party. Notably, he is only the second Brahmin to serve as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, following the Shiv Sena's Manohar Joshi. His ascent began in earnest ahead of the 2014 assembly elections, where he garnered significant support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leader Amit Shah. Modi famously referred to him as «Nagpur's gift to the country» during a campaign rally, underscoring the confidence placed in Fadnavis.

markets UPS Election Food Trade Cycling rights Auto sector faces short-term challenges, recovery likely by March: Sunil Subramaniam
«I think that overall conditions should favour this and then March is usually a season when auto sales pick up because it is the year end clearance and all that. So, all of this excess backlog will probably get cleared at that time. So, I expect this weakness to be there for the next month or so,» says Sunil Subramaniam, Market Expert. So, firstly to start off with the auto sector. Now, we all knew that December is the month when discounts will come in from auto companies to boost their sales, but how long do you see the weakness that we are seeing in the auto space right now also because of a high base will continue going forward. For how long do you expect that to happen? Sunil Subramaniam: I think it will last till the middle of February, I do not see a quick turn on that because one of the things which is hurting and these are the bottom of the pyramid in the auto segment, two wheelers are the lowest priced vehicles and that is where the inflation has been hurting the consumer and hence demand at the bottom of the pyramid has been weak and I think until the monsoon forecast actually translates into lower vegetable and food prices and inflation eases.

After vowing for years he wouldn't interfere with the judicial system, Biden has granted 'a full and unconditional pardon' to his son Hunter. The pardon not only covers the gun-related and tax evasion charges Hunter has been convicted of, but also crimes he may be charged with in the future. The blanket pardon covers any case that may come down the line from Trump's justice department. Republicans may try to punish Hunter for trading on his father's name while Biden was VP, and receiving $10 million in payments from Chinese and other foreign companies. But no worries, the father has secured his son before signing off.
