"MS Dhoni came up to me and said....": Ruturaj Gaikwad on how legend approached him for CSK captaincy role
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad opened up on how legendary five-time IPL-winning and World Cup-winning Indian skipper MS Dhoni approached him for captaincy ahead of the previous season and assured him that he will be getting to make his own calls. CSK will be kickstarting their upcoming IPL season against arch-rivals and five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at Chennai on March 23. Last year, under Gaikwad's captaincy, CSK failed to defend their title, finishing at fifth spot with seven wins and seven losses, with 14 points. They missed out on the playoffs spot on basis of net-run-rate. Speaking exclusively on JioHotstar on CSK's leadership transition, the experts and the skipper himself said: Gaikwad said, «Just a week before the tournament last year, MS Dhoni came up to me and said, 'I am not leading this year--you are.' I was taken aback, asking, 'From the first game? Are you sure?' With just a few days to prepare, it was overwhelming. But he assured me, 'This is your team. You make your own decisions. I would not interfere--except when field placements are a 50-50 call. Even then, it is not a compulsion to follow my advice. That trust meant a lot to me.»

And I think that feeling should be universal,” Huang said in an interview on journalist Cleo Abram’s YouTube show, Huge Conversations, in an episode that aired last month. «That AI tutor can just teach you things, anything you like, help you program, help you write, help you analyze, help you think, help you reason,» he said.

A 'superstitious' Trump didn't want you to think he was joking about tariffs on US allies, including India
Donald Trump has set April 2 as the date for implementing reciprocal tariffs on a range of imports from several major trading partners. The tariffs, he said, are a response to what he considers unfair trade practices by countries like Canada, Mexico, China, the European Union, and India. This move is part of Trump’s broader agenda to reshape U.S. trade policies and create a more balanced global trading environment.

EU emissions reprieve for carmakers may slow EV shift
European Commission's proposal to ease emission targets would enable struggling automakers to keep profits flowing from fossil fuel models but could potentially stall Europe's shift to electric vehicles and climate progress. European car companies, already beset by Chinese competition, had been warning that they would struggle to meet the ambitious 2025 carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction target, which exposed the sector to hefty fines. The European Union's executive arm proposed on Monday to give automakers three years to meet the target, a change that must now be approved by EU states and the bloc's parliament.

DOGE website offers error-filled window into Musk's government overhaul
Elon Musk's effort to slash U.S. government spending and the size of the federal workforce. However, the view it offers of the cost-cutting enterprise is often muddied by major errors. President Donald Trump and Musk's Department of Government Efficiency say that in just six weeks they have already saved American taxpayers tens of billions of dollars through rapid-fire moves to cancel contracts, fire workers and root out fraud and waste in the government. The only support for the assertions comes from data posted by DOGE to a newly created website that went live last month. But in the last two weeks alone, DOGE has deleted hundreds of claimed savings, including some of the largest items it had previously boasted about.

India ‘hardly on radar screen’ in US tariff plans but global uncertainty a bigger worry: Swaminathan Aiyar
trade tensions, Swaminathan Aiyar, Consulting Editor at ET Now Swaminathan Aiyar has downplayed concerns over the direct impact of U.S. tariff plans on India. In an interaction with ET Now, Aiyar asserted that India is «hardly on the radar screen» when it comes to Washington’s trade actions, which are largely aimed at economic heavyweights like Russia, China, and Mexico.
