Elon Musk's $1 million election giveaway tests limits of election law
election law, and legal experts are divided about whether the billionaire supporter of Donald Trump could be running afoul of prohibitions on paying people to register to vote. The Tesla CEO is promising to give $1 million each day to a randomly selected person who signs his online petition pledging to support the First and Second amendments of the U.S. Constitution, which protect the rights to free speech and gun ownership. The petition is only open to signatories who are registered voters in seven swing states likely to decide the presidential election. «There is certainly an argument that this falls within the scope of a federal prohibition on paying a person to vote or register to vote,» said Daniel Weiner of the left-leaning Brennan Center for Justice. «This is part of a pattern of him skating up to the edge of election laws that we've seen in the past several weeks.» Musk's representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Should Kamala Harris opted for an interview with Elon Musk on X? She rejected the offer and it could prove costly
Mark Cuban has voiced his opinion on the «Squawk Box» of CNBC that he had the offer of facilitating a meeting between Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. According to The Hill, the campaign of Kamala Harris has rejected this proposal stating the concern about the potential of Elon Musk of misrepresenting the conversation on X while Mark Cuban also mentioned that they just do not trust Elon Musk as he can do something to distort the purpose of the meeting. In response to the comments of Mark Cuban, Elon Musk wrote on X sharing his desire to be involved in a live discussion session for preventing any kind of misinterpretation. Though later, Mark Cuban rectified his earlier remarks with the suggestion that he should have used ‘disclosure’ instead of using the term ‘distortion’, reported The Hill. Ruchir Modi seeks justice over Rs 620 crore dividends in Delhi HC
Ruchir Modi, son of former Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi, has filed a plea in the Delhi High Court seeking distribution of the dividends of Rs 620.83 crore, received by the K.K. Modi Family Trust companies since 2020, among the four family branches — Lalit Modi, Bina Modi, Samir Modi and Charu Modi. Justice Subramonium Prasad has given two weeks to Bina and her daughter Charu Modi to respond to the Ruchir's application. The case will be next heard on November 19. Ruchir in his fresh plea has alleged that several trust companies including Godfrey Phillips India (GPIL), IPM India Wholesale Trading and Indofil Industries have announced and distributed dividends the tune of Rs 620.83 crore to the upstream Trust companies since 2020, but he and his family branch had been kept «completely in the dark» and his family branch is entitled to a 25% share.

Kumaraswamy: “Nadda, Joshi want Yogeshwar as JDS candidate, but Congress leaders have queued up to welcome him”
BJP leader CP Yogeshwar was welcome to the Congress if he had faith in the party’s ideology, adding fuel to the speculations that the former minister would contest on a Congress ticket from Channapatna, the assembly seat vacated by Union Heavy Industries & Steel Minister HD Kumaraswamy. The CM, replying to queries from the media, said DK Suresh, who lost the recent Lok Sabha polls from Bengaluru Rural, was also a strong contender for the seat. A clear picture will emerge in two days, he added. Suresh, a three-time MP, is the brother of Dy CM DK Shivakumar. Kumaraswamy told media that BJP national president JP Nadda and union minister Pralhad Joshi had requested him to give the JDS ticket to Yogeshwar, but he found Congress leaders queuing up to welcome him. The union minister defeated Yogeshwar in last year’s assembly polls. Yogeshwar’s unexpected resignation as BJP MLC on Monday has raised the temperature in the BJP and JDS camps.

Karnataka to formulate policy to increase investment in the green energy
green energy sector. The state’s Industries Minister, MB Patil, announced the need for a policy to effectively capitalize on investment and production opportunities on Tuesday. With an estimated requirement of Rs 45-50 crore in capital and five gigawatts of power, the state aims to boost such projects. “As per experts, a location within a 20 km radius of Mangaluru port would be ideal for green ammonia and green hydrogen production,” Patil said while interacting with the state's Vision Group for Green Energy. He emphasized that achieving the state's renewableenergy goals will require close coordination between the Department of Large-Scale Industries and the Department of Power. A second meeting will be held with industrialists and potential investors to discuss the way forward. Patil also noted that there are suggestions to establish green industrial parks to attract more investments into the sector. Renewable energy company-- Avaada Energy’s CEO, Krishna Nair, who was present for the meeting, said the company has signed an MoU with Karnataka worth Rs 45,000 crore for green hydrogen production. «We can focus on electrolyte and battery production if the government introduces the right policies and incentives.»
