Prime Video has launched Apple TV+ as an add-on subscription in India, priced at ₹99 per month. Subscribers can enjoy a diverse range of content, including comedies such as Ted Lasso and Shrinking, dramas like Severance, The Morning Show, Slow Horses, and Disclaimer, as well as sci-fi titles such as Silo. Popular films, including Wolfs and The Gorge, are also available. This add-on subscription is now accessible via Prime Video in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and multiple regions across Europe and Latin America. “We're delighted to continue rolling out Apple TV+ on Prime Video with today’s launch in India, bringing Prime Video customers an even greater selection of TV shows and films, all within one app experience,” said Kelly Day, Vice President of International, Prime Video. Amazon's movie strategy is finally ready for its close-up. After a decade-long dalliance with big-screen theatrical releases, the giant tech company will take center stage this week at the annual convention for theater owners, spending several million dollars to parade a stream of A-list stars including Ryan Gosling, Ben Affleck and Chris Hemsworth. It is the first time the company has ever taken on such a role. The point: to prove that its movie arm, Amazon MGM Studios, is serious about releasing around 14 big, broad commercial films a year to theaters nationwide and around the world.

Sony Pictures' One of Them Days will be available for streaming on Netflix in the United States earlier than expected. Originally predicted to arrive in May 2025, the release date has been moved up to March 31, 2025. Other regions will receive the movie later, following different distribution agreements.

SpaceX is set to launch the first human spaceflight directly over Earth's polar regions on Monday — a days-long, privately funded orbital mission involving four astronauts. Indian films are showing higher growth in collections abroad than at home, with overseas box-office mop-up surging nearly 30% to $323 million ('2,760.6 crore) between 2022 and 2024, even as domestic growth crawled at 7.2%, according to the FICCI-EY Media and Entertainment 2025 report. Between 2022 and 2024, domestic box-office revenue for Indian films increased a modest 7.2% to '11,800 crore, it said. «Recently, Indian films have been telling stories which have universal emotions and global appeal. These films score well on the parameter of visual presentation of stories. Consequently, Indian films have been crossing language and geographical barriers,» said Adi Tiwary, creative director and partner, Stuart Entertainment, an Australia-based boutique distributor and producer specialising in global content licensing, production and strategic partnerships.

Kanakia Group’s listed movie exhibition company Cineline India has sold its hotel property Hyatt Centric in Goa to Sparsh Vidhyut at an enterprise value of Rs 270 crore. The hotel asset was owned by Cineline India’s wholly owned subsidiary R&H Spaces. The monetization has helped Cineline India to reduce its debt by Rs 120 crore pertaining to the hotel asset at subsidiary level, the company said in a release. Cineline India is planning to utilize the sale proceeds to fully repay its outstanding debt of Rz 108 crores related to the film exhibition business, achieving a debt-free status. The remaining surplus will be allocated towards expansion of the film exhibition business, the company said.

Legend of Zelda? The video game franchise is now being adapted for a live-action film, with the makers announcing its theatrical release date on Friday, March 28. The release date was shared on Nintendo Today, Nintendo’s new app, Variety reported. This comes after a gap of roughly a year-and-a-half when the official announcement of Zelda film was made back in November 2023.
