Salman Khan's cheeky reply on nepotism: ‘Kangana Ranaut's daughter will enter films or politics?
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, known for his larger-than-life persona and unfiltered opinions, recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing nepotism debate in the film industry. During a press event for his upcoming film Sikandar, the actor tackled the subject with his signature humor and candidness. Speaking at the conference on March 26, 2025, Salman dismissed the idea of anyone being completely self-made, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and opportunities shaped by circumstances. He acknowledged that his own journey in the industry was influenced by his father, veteran writer Salim Khan, whose decision to move from Indore to Mumbai played a crucial role in shaping his (Salman) career. Reflecting on this, he pointed out that without his father’s move, he might have been leading a completely different life in Indore. The discussion took an amusing turn when the conversation shifted to star kids entering Bollywood. When Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha, was mentioned as an example, Salman misheard and jokingly referenced Kangana Ranaut, playfully speculating whether her future child would enter films or politics. He said, “Ab Kangana ki beti aayengi, to films karengi ya politics join karengi? To unko bhi…” His lighthearted remark added a moment of laughter to the conversation, showcasing his trademark wit.

L2: Empuraan breaks Malayalam cinema’s opening records, grosses Rs 22 crore on day 1
L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has set a new benchmark at the box office with a record-breaking Rs 22 crore collection on its opening day. The film has reportedly shattered previous records, surpassing even the highest day-one earnings in Malayalam film history by more than double. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, L2: Empuraan raked in Rs 22 crore in India on its release day, a figure that dwarfs the previous record of Rs 8.95 crore set by Prithviraj’s The Goat Life earlier this year. The previous top opening was set by Lucifer in 2019, which earned Rs 6.10 crore. Notably, the film enjoyed a strong 60% occupancy across all Malayalam shows, with certain regions like Kochi and Kozhikode—where Mohanlal enjoys immense popularity—seeing occupancy rates soar past 90%, with almost all shows selling out. The impressive Rs 22 crore total includes Rs 19.45 crore from Malayalam audiences, while the Telugu version earned Rs 1.2 crore. However, the film's dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada saw more modest returns, contributing just Rs 1.35 crore combined on opening day.

Did you know? Aamir Khan was once rejected by Kiran Rao... for being Aamir Khan!
Aamir Khan has frequently spoken about how his former wife, filmmaker Kiran Rao, turned him down for a role in his own production, Laapataa Ladies. The actor had even auditioned for the part of Sub-Inspector Shyam Manohar, but Kiran ultimately decided that Ravi Kishan was a better fit. Recently, a clip from Aamir’s audition made its way onto social media, igniting a debate among viewers. The footage, which Aamir uploaded on his newly launched YouTube channel, shows him dressed as a village policeman, chewing betel leaf while delivering his lines in a regional accent. In the film, this humorous character undergoes significant development as the story progresses. Many fans supported Kiran’s decision, applauding Aamir for recognizing that the role suited Ravi Kishan better and stepping aside. One viewer remarked, “Ram Gopal Varma once said, ‘Casting the right actor is half the battle won.’ Watching this, I completely agree. Say what you will about Aamir, but at least he has the self-awareness that others, like Salman Khan, lack.” Another user echoed similar sentiments, stating, “Nope… rejecting him was the right choice, both by Kiran and himself. Ravi Kishan fit the role perfectly. If Aamir really wanted to play the character, he should have done extensive preparation and worked with a dialect coach. But let’s be honest, he looks too polished to convincingly portray a rural cop. Ravi Kishan, on the other hand, comes across as authentic.”
