Now, a new desi twist after Govinda claimed he refused Rs 18 crore for Avatar role
Bollywood superstar Govinda recently claimed that he was offered James Cameron's Hollywood blockbuster Avatar for Rs 18 crore. Now, veteran producer Pahlaj Nihalani recently weighed in on these allegations, addressing the controversy surrounding Avatar. In an interview, he cleared the air that he had once come up with a project titled Avatar which had absolutely no connection to Hollywood's namesake. One of the most intriguing aspects of Govinda’s career is his claim of being approached for Avatar, a film that went on to become a Hollywood blockbuster. In an interview with veteran actor Mukesh Khanna on his YouTube channel, Govinda recalled meeting James Cameron through a businessman in the US. He claimed that he suggested the title Avatar to Cameron and was offered Rs 18 crore for the role. However, he declined the project upon learning that the protagonist was handicapped, as he was unwilling to commit to the 410-day shoot.

Ryan Reynolds ditches Blake Lively on the red carpet at the SXSW film festival in Austin, insiders say Anna Kendrick feud may be the real reason
Ryan Reynolds was absent from Blake Lively's red carpet appearance at the South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival last Friday, fueling speculation about rising tensions. Meanwhile, protests and legal drama continue to overshadow Blake Lively's most recent film, Another Simple Favor. Blake Lively's hopes of putting her legal troubles behind her for the evening were dashed when a huge 'Justice for Justin Baldoni' placard was thrown high into the air. However, the troubled actress braved the red carpet at the premiere of her new film, Another Simple Favor, at the SXSW film festival in Austin on Friday night, sporting a tight pink PVC coat and matching dress. She had only made a few public appearances since filing a shocking lawsuit against Baldoni in December of last year, alleging sexual harassment.

Javed Akhtar wonders why Allu Arjun, Prabhas films are beating Hindi films at box office. Aamir Khan says 'it is not North vs South'
Aamir Khan is in the mood to spill the beans about Bollywood losing the box-office game to the South. In a conversation with veteran lyricist-screenwriter Javed Akhtar, the ‘3 Idiots’ star shared his insights on where Bollywood is lagging behind South. In the interview, Akhtar lamented how Bollywood is struggling at the box-office and films with South stars who are relatively unknown among Hindi-speaking audiences are dominating the box-office. “The [Hindi] films have lost all connectivity with the audience. Dubbed South Indian films, featuring stars who are unknown to audiences here in North India, are releasing and doing Rs 600-700 crore business. Even the few of our films that end up working are also directed by people from the South. What happened to our people?” wondered the ‘Sholay’ screenwriter. The superstar argued that it’s not a North vs. South problem and that Bollywood actors and producers are ill-equipped to deal with the OTT storm. “Please come and consume our product (film). If you don’t, we’ll come and drop it off at your doorstep in eight weeks (through OTT platforms). This is our business model," he explained.
