Kai Group, a Japan-based personal care product and kitchen equipment maker, said it will invest 300 million yen (around Rs 17.17 crore) to expand production capacity of its manufacturing facility at Neemrana in Rajasthan. This latest investment is to increase the production capacity of women's razors by over 5 million units per year, according to a statement issued by the group's local subsidiary Kai India. «The group is planning an additional investment, allocated around 300 million yen, reflecting KAI group's commitment to bolstering its manufacturing infrastructure,» it said. The expected timeline for the completion of this expansion is five months, and the company expects the enhanced production capacity will be operational by the end of December 2024.

Keswani pointed out that several countries have seen that the tourism sector contributes as much as 15-20 per cent to their GDP and account for 25 per cent of employment. Expressing disappointment over the government's approach towards the tourism sector, he said, «In India, tourism contributes only 6.5 per cent to GDP and a similar share in employment. This sector holds enormous potential for creating jobs.»

The government-owned NBCC announced on Friday that it will develop the greenfield township across 406 acres with an investment of Rs 15,000 crore over the next five years. The township will be located at Rakh Gund Aksha, just 8 km from Lal Chowk, a TOI report stated. The Srinagar township project will include residential plots, luxury villas, apartment complexes, commercial office spaces, an indoor sports center, and a 200-room five-star resort with modern facilities. NBCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Srinagar Development Authority to implement the project. NBCC chairman K P Mahadevaswamy stated, “We will prepare the detailed project and the target is to complete the project in five years.”

motor insurance in non-life industry premiums has fallen below 30% for the first time, according to data released by the General Insurance Council as of June-end, reported TOI. The non-life industry wrote premiums totaling Rs 72,758 crore, marking a 13.3% increase from the previous year. Health insurance continues to lead the growth with a 16.6% increase in premiums, reaching Rs 29,915 crore, while motor insurance grew by 11.9% to Rs 21,348 crore. At the end of the quarter, health insurance accounted for 41.1% of the total non-life insurance premiums, whereas motor insurance's share decreased to 29.3%. The shift in share is attributed to a slowdown in car sales, with insurers pointing out that the focus of motor insurance is largely on new cars due to regulatory requirements. These rules mandate buyers to purchase three years of cover upfront for cars and five years for two-wheelers, influencing the dynamics of motor insurance premiums.
