Hindus in no way will benefit from UCC: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday criticised the BJP for using the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as a political ploy ahead of the elections, asserting that Hindus will not benefit from it. Speaking at a rally in the minority-dominated Jangipur constituency in Murshidabad district, Banerjee accused the BJP of resorting to divisive tactics in the face of anticipated defeat in the initial phases of polling. «Whenever there are elections, they use one issue or the other to flare up communal tensions. This time they are talking about the UCC and are propagating that it is against a particular community. But this UCC is nothing but political rhetoric and Hindus in no way will benefit from it,» she said. Banerjee highlighted a growing anti-BJP sentiment nationwide, especially evident after the first two phases of voting.

Valuation of Apollo HealthCo will go up by many multiples due to integration of Keimed: Suneeta Reddy, Apollo Hospitals
«The most important thing to understand is that we believe that the valuation of Apollo HealthCo will go up by many multiples and this will happen because of the integration of Keimed,» says Suneeta Reddy, MD, Apollo Hospitals. Congratulations on firstly the deal. Outline for us what Advent really brings on the table besides of course growth capital and how is it that you see the synergies build in. The most important thing is that Advent is bringing capital to the table. They are bringing 300 million for 12.1% of the combined entity, which is the current Apollo HealthCo plus Keimed, so they will get 12.1%. In terms of their exit, there is an optionality that can be triggered post five years and I think we have many options on how to handle their exit.

NPS is a long-term investment with very low costs, low risk profile: Rahul Bhagat, CEO, DSP Pension Fund
It is a long-term investment, has very low costs and comparitively low risk. Investors should look beyond tax and invest more than the deduction limit, Rahul Bhagat, CEO of DSP Pension Fund tells ET Wealth. DSP has returned to the NPS after several years. What made you come back? The pension market has matured and the regulatory framework is more robust now. Instead of applying for a licence every five years, we now have a perpetual licence. The very low charges have also been revised. The charges are still quite low, but enough to make the business viable in the long term. All this gives us confidence to stay in the business for the long term. What makes the NPS a better product than other retirement options?
