Farmers faced 10 years of 'anyay-kaal', Congress' 'Kisaan Nyay Guarantees' are answer: Party
Congress on Tuesday alleged that India's farmers have faced 10 years of «anyay-kaal» with the agriculture ministry being a «complete failure» in every basic responsibility, and asserted that farmers now need the party's «Kisaan Nyay» guarantees. Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh claimed that of all the various «failures» of the Narendra Modi government, the «sheer incompetence and maliciousness» of the agriculture and farmers welfare ministry is among the most harmful and self-evident. In a detailed post on X, Ramesh listed the various «failures» of the government in ensuring development of farmers. He claimed that the «eight major failures» of the Modi government's agriculture ministry are — «extortionate GST on agricultural inputs, non-utilisation of ministry funds, failure to double farmers' income; inadequate MSP increases and non-implementation of the Swaminathan Commission Report, failure to diversify crops, dependence on imports for edible oils, failures on trade policy, and rising indebtedness and farmer suicides».

PM's big South India push: Roadshows, public rallies
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday wrapped up his whirlwind tour of South India by holding a roadshow in Kerala and a public rally in Tamil Nadu, marking the continuation of the BJP's southern outreach, as he made a strong election pitch for the party, a month ahead of Lok Sabha polls. Over the last five days, Modi visited all of south, held roadshows, made an aggressive bid for his party, and took on the rivals with full gusto, especially the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, and the BRS in Telangana that was in power for 10 years. He also stepped up his attack on the opposition bloc India over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Shakti' remark. Not just through the week, but PM Modi had made repeated stopovers in multiple southern destinations in the past few months, crisscrossing the region, in a bid to get a firmer foothold for the saffron party. He combined official engagements with visits to places of Hindu religious significance. But for Karnataka, the region has eluded the BJP of many electoral gains. Kerala and Tamil Nadu even bucked the national trend in 2014 and 2019, cold-shouldering an otherwise resurgent and powerful BJP that swept across the country in the polls.

Lok Sabha polls: How BJP's closeness with Chirag Paswan fractured NDA coalition in Bihar
Pashupati Paras claimed injustice to his party and said, "Yesterday, the NDA alliance announced the list of 40 candidates for Bihar Lok Sabha...Our party had five MPs & I worked with utmost sincerity...Injustice has been done with us and our party. Therefore, I resign from the post of Union Minister." The rift in the Bihar NDA started showing when Pashupati Paswan hinted at going solo in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, declaring that the existing MLAs of his party will recontest from their seats. However, speculation is rife that smelling the RLJP's sidelining, some of his MLAs are allegedly actively pursuing pre-poll deals with other parties.

The first quote is the root cause of perhaps all irrational adventures that investors are willing to undertake in their desire to beat competing standards of living.
