NASA astronauts who have been stuck on the ISS for five months have been consuming a lot of pizza, roast chicken, and even prawn cocktails, but they haven't had much fresh produce to add to their diet. Butch Wilmore, 61, and Sunita Williams, 59, are being closely watched by space agency doctors for their diets and health after a recent photo revealed Williams to be noticeably thin. The New York Post was informed by a specialist involved in the troubled Starliner mission that the two are eating a wide range of foods, such as pizza, prawn cocktails, roast chicken, tuna, and breakfast cereal with powdered milk, while medical professionals make sure they are consuming enough calories.

After saying Donald Trump eats food that is practically poison, RFK Jr. photographed on president-elect’s plane enjoying McDonald’s and Coca-Cola
Ever since the magnificent win in the US Presidential elections this year, Donald Trump is having a Gala time with those who have been close to his campaign right from the start, and now he is seen sharing some light moments with his prospective Cabinet member, RFK Jr, who has been tapped by the President-elect to run the Department of Health and Human Services, when the next administrative term begins at the White House. RFK Jr. has already been talking about health and safety issues surrounding the American population, and is working on remedies to cater to them, as per reports. Global South adversely impacted by crisis caused by global conflicts: PM Modi at G20
PM Narendra Modi while addressing the maiden session of the Rio G20 Summit on Monday pointed out that the countries of the Global South are most adversely impacted by the food, fuel and fertiliser crisis caused by global conflicts (read Ukraine and Gaza) and in that context supported Brazil's initiative for a 'Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty'. Addressing the session titled 'Social Inclusion and the Fight Against Hunger and Poverty', Modi noted that the G20 discussions can only be successful when «we keep in mind the challenges and priorities of the Global South». «This is an important step towards the implementation of the Deccan high-level principles for Food security, adopted at the New Delhi Summit.» Simultaneously, the PM called for reforms of the global institutions which has also been a key priority at the Brics as well as for G20 hosts Brazil and South Africa, among other countries. «And just as we amplified the voice of the Global South by granting permanent membership of G20 to the African Union during the New Delhi Summit, we will reform institutions of global governance.» The second session of the G20 Summit focused on reforms of Global institutions.

₹69,000 crore vanishes in grain leakages: Where is India’s free ration going?
Public Distribution System (PDS) never reach their intended beneficiaries and the economic loss to the exchequer is forecast at over ₹69,000 crore annually, a new report by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) has revealed. The analysis indicates that around 20 million tonnes of rice and wheat, meant to feed 814 million people under government programs, are either diverted to the open market or exported. «This is an annual loss. Where is it going? Maybe it is being diverted to the open market or even for exports,» said Ashok Gulati, Infosys Chair Professor at ICRIER and one of the authors of the policy brief, along with Raya Das and Ranjana Roy. The report draws on data from the Household Consumption Expenditure Survey (HCES) and the Food Corporation of India’s (FCI) monthly offtake figures from August 2022 to July 2023. It highlights that despite improvements, the leakage of subsidised grains remains substantial, causing both financial and logistical strain.
