New Delhi: IndiGo on Wednesday inducted 77 female pilots for its Airbus and ATR planes to celebrate 77 years of the country's independence. With the latest induction, the carrier has more than 800 female pilots. The induction of 72 female pilots for the Airbus fleet and 5 for the ATR fleet to celebrate 77 years of the country's independence marks a milestone, the airline said in a release. The airline has around 14 per cent women pilots compared to a global average of 7-9 per cent women pilots in the workforce, it added.

PMAY-U is among the major flagship programmes being implemented by the government to provide all-weather pucca houses to all eligible beneficiaries in the urban areas. Under PMAY-U, more than 11.8 million homes have been sanctioned while nearly 9 million houses have already been constructed and delivered to the beneficiaries. “The nature of the housing scheme has changed in its new avatar. Government is using a wider mix of schemes ranging from interest subsidy to credit guarantee. While the quantum of interest subsidy per beneficiary has been scaled down, the government’s capital support will help a larger base of needy population. The government intends to do both — enhance its capital productivity and accelerate the ‘Housing for All’ timelines,” said Vivek Rathi, National Director Research, Knight Frank India.

Krishnamurthy V Subramanian, Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Monday. Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund has announced the merger of Baroda BNP Paribas Medium Duration Fund and Baroda BNP Paribas Credit Risk Fund. The fund house informed about the merger to its unitholders through a notice-cum-addendum. Baroda BNP Paribas Medium Duration Fund is an open ended medium term debt scheme investing in instruments such that the Macaulay duration of the portfolio is between three and four years with a relatively high interest rate risk and moderate credit risk scheme. Baroda BNP Paribas Credit Risk Fund is an open-ended debt scheme predominantly investing in AA and below rated corporate bonds (excluding AA+ rated corporate bonds) with a relatively high interest rate risk and relatively high credit risk. The merger of these two schemes will be effective from September 11. Individual communication is also being sent to existing unitholders of both schemes over email, wherever email ID is available. As a result of the merger, no new scheme will come into effect.
