US Visa Bulletin For August 2024: Green Card applications from India see progress, but little
US Green Card applications: The August 2024 Visa Bulletin has been released, revealing slight progress for India's EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Meanwhile, other employment-based (EB) categories see no change. In the first preference category (EB-1, Priority Workers), the dates hold steady across all countries. For EB-1 India, the cutoff date remains February 1, 2022. This update is particularly significant for Indian applicants in the EB-2 (Advanced Degree Professionals) and EB-3 (Skilled Workers) categories, as any forward movement in priority dates can impact their green card application process. While the advancements are minor, they provide a glimmer of hope for many waiting in line. The unchanged status of the EB-1 category suggests that demand remains high, and the backlog continues. The steady date of February 1, 2022, for EB-1 India indicates that applicants will have to wait longer for their priority dates to become current.

Should've been told on first day LG gave order to cut trees: SC on tree felling in ridge
LG V K Saxena in tree feeling in ridge area, the Supreme Court on Friday directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to inform it whether the order to cut trees was passed on basis of LG's oral permission or the agency independently took the decision. The apex court was hearing suo motu (on its own) contempt proceedings against the vice chairman of the DDA over alleged cutting of 1,100 trees in the ridge forest for a road widening project. Observing that there was a complete non-application of mind by Delhi LG in granting permission for felling of trees, a bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan said it should have been informed on the first day of the hearing itself that the LG already had issued directions for tree felling. «What troubles us is that everybody has committed a mistake. First day, everybody should have come to the court and said there is a mistake by us. But cover up goes on and on. After four or five orders, truth comes out in the from of DDA officer's affidavit. All have committed the mistake including the Lieutenant Governor. Sorry state of affairs,» the bench said.

Here's detailed information on these risks and what you need to know. Case Study: Allergic reactions in East Delhi A new case study sheds light on the health hazards posed by pigeon droppings and feathers, revealing a troubling incident involving an 11-year-old boy from East Delhi. As per a TOI report, the boy developed severe allergic reactions after prolonged contact with pigeon feathers and droppings, leading to potentially fatal consequences. He was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (HP), a rare but serious lung condition triggered by allergic reactions to pigeon proteins. Understanding Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (HP) Dr. Dhiren Gupta, Co-Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) explained to TOI that HP is a chronic interstitial lung disease characterized by lung inflammation and scarring, making breathing difficult. While more common among adults, HP is rare in children, affecting only 2-4 per one lakh population annually. The boy received immediate medical attention, including steroids and high-flow oxygen therapy to reduce lung inflammation and restore normal breathing.
