NEW DELHI : The ministry of corporate affairs will look into making changes to rules and regulations issued under the Companies Act and other laws, said a person informed about discussions in the government, in a post-election push on ease of business. The changes will be based on suggestions from the public and self-regulators of accountants and company secretaries, which arre expected by the middle of March. Regulators like the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) and the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) will make the changes in regulations that are needed, the person said.

markets regulator Sebi on Wednesday proposed relaxing rules for certain Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) from enhanced disclosure requirements in a bid to promote ease of doing business. In its consultation paper, the regulator suggested exempting category I university funds and university-related endowments FPI that meet specific criteria from enhanced disclosure requirements. Additionally, it proposed exempting funds with concentrated holdings in entities without a promoter group, where there is no risk of breaching Minimum Public Shareholding (MPS) requirements, from enhanced reporting obligations.

SpiceJet has mutually settled its Rs 250 crore dispute with AerCap's subsidiary Celestial Aviation, the company said in a stock exchange clarification on Wednesday. With this, the company said it will avoid litigation and save Rs 235 crore. «The representatives of both Parties informed a bench of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) last week that settlement terms had been reached and requested an adjournment. The Court graciously granted the adjournment,» it said in a release.
