The Egyptian government has raised fuel prices in a move that is bound to exacerbate inflationary pressures on an already-struggling population

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has disaffiliated 20 schools, including five in Delhi, for enrolling dummy students and ineligible candidates, its secretary Himanshu Gupta said on Friday. The board has also downgraded the affiliation of three schools. «Pursuant to a surprise inspection conducted in CBSE schools across the country to check whether the schools are running according to the provisions and norms contained in the affiliation and examination bye-laws, it was found that some schools were committing various malpractices of presenting dummy students, ineligible candidates and not maintaining records properly,» Gupta said. «After a thorough inquiry, it has been decided to disaffiliate 20 schools and downgrade three schools,» he added.

NEW DELHI : Domestic carriers registered a 22% increase in international air traffic to and from India at 7.7 million passengers, as per the latest data available for the October-December period, the fruits of a likely sustained post-pandemic focus by Indian airlines to expand their international network. As per data from the regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Indian airlines also registered an increase in the cumulative market shareof international flights to and from India at 44.6% in the period.

The company said that it has also set a target of achieving a 21 per cent reduction in water usage by 2030. The Chennai-manufacturing facility uses recycled water for a variety of industrial purposes. «RNAIPL has an unwavering commitment to sustainability and responsible water management.

Jai Ram Thakur on Friday claimed that the Congress has been trying to woo back its six rebel leaders, who had cast their votes for the BJP candidate against party lines in the last month's Rajya Sabha polls. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Thakur said that a piquant situation prevails in the party with rounds of persuasion taking place to bring the rebels back into the fold. The six Congress MLAs had been stripped off their state assembly membership last month. Later the party also removed them from internal posts. They still, however, remain in the party. The six have been camping outside Himachal since their rebellion.

Canada is set to implement measures to curb the influx of temporary foreign workers for the first time, as announced by officials on Thursday. Ottawa aims to reduce the number of temporary residents to five percent of the population over the next three years, down from the current 6.2 percent, which translates to 2.5 million people. The proposed target will be solidified following consultations with Canada's provinces, some of which have expressed concerns over significant migrant inflows amid housing shortages and increased demands for services. Restrictions on temporary foreign worker permits are scheduled to commence on May 1. This decision comes on the heels of a recent announcement imposing a cap on new permits for international students and introducing visa requirements for certain Mexican travelers.
