India is prepared to take adequate steps to mitigate any impact of the Iran-Israel conflict on its economy and will «remain alert», Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday. «Can't say that we are fully ready. As developments unfold, we are preparing to take adequate steps in India's interests,» Sitharaman told the CNBC Awaaz news channel in an interview. markets UPS Booking Waters wellness rights Interviews Thermax hopes to ride on steel, power and refining this year
Thermax is expecting big projects to be back in the steel, refining and petrochemicals and power sectors. Managing director and chief executive Ashish Bhandari told ET's Kalpana Pathak in an interview that he is optimistic about the power sector with the government talking about large power plants. Edited excerpts: What is Thermax's capex plan for this fiscal? How do you see the order book? We don't disclose capex numbers. Regarding the order book, I expect this year to be one of the most exciting. Energy transition, industrial growth across multiple sectors and urbanisation — all three of these levers are, in my view, tailwinds for business. All of last year, we didn't have any big project announcements, but as I look at this year, I expect big projects to be back in play, be it in steel, refining and petrochemicals, or power. I'm quite optimistic about power, with the government talking about large power plants again, and they are moving at a very fast pace. That is a portion of the market which I wasn't expecting to evolve, and certainly not at this pace… Also, in our standard products where we do a small range of boilers, steam equipment, water, clean air solutions, industrial cooling solutions, we continue to see good growth. We also expect exports to be better. Our exports haven't done well for a couple of years as our India business grew a lot faster than exports.

WhatsApp show country Courts Interviews PM Modi's recent interview a flop show, BJP won't cross 150 seats: Rahul Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a joint press conference with INDIA bloc partner, Samajwadi Party, launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling the BJP's leader's recent interview 'scripted and flop show.' «A few days ago, the Prime Minister gave a very long interview to ANI. It was scripted, but it was a flop show. The Prime Minister tried to explain electoral bonds in it. The Prime Minister says that the system of electoral bonds was brought for transparency, to clean politics,» said Rahul Gandhi. Continuing his comments on PM Modi, the Congress leader remaked that if this is true then why was that system cancelled by the Supreme Court. «And secondly, if you wanted to bring transparency then why did you hide the names of those who gave money to BJP. And why did you hide the dates on which they gave you the money?.. This is the biggest extortion scheme in the world. All the businessmen of India understand and know this and no matter how much clarification the Prime Minister wants to give, it will not make any difference. Because the entire country knows that the Prime Minister is the champion of corruption,» said Rahul Gandhi.
