Plea filed in Supreme Court to take US bribery charges against Gautam Adani on record
Gautam Adani paid and offered bribes to Indian government officials for securing solar power projects has now reached the Supreme Court. A fresh plea was filed late Saturday night informing the apex court to take on record the allegations of bribery and corruption raised by US prosecutors and the US SEC against the Adani group. The application has been filed in a batch of pending petitions in the Adani-Hindenburg row over allegations of stock price manipulation by the Indian corporate giant. Lawyer Vishal Tiwari, who was also one of the petitioners in the Adani-Hindenburg case, in his fresh application said the indictment order was relevant to the pending case and these documents «unveil serious malpractices carried out by the conglomerate» and these should be thoroughly investigated by the Indian authorities in the «interest of the nation.»

The Sabarmati Report declared tax-free in Uttarakhand: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami
Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday announced that the film 'The Sabarmati Report' will be exempted from entertainment tax across the state. Uttarakhand is the seventh BJP-ruled state to have made the film tax-free after Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. The film, directed by Dheeraj Saran, is based on the 2002 Godhra riots and was released in cinemas on November 15. It stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in pivotal roles. Dhami watched the film with his cabinet colleagues, other MPs and MLAs. He said, «59 Ram devotees boarded the Sabarmati Express train from Ayodhya and it was set on fire at Godhra station. They all died untimely death. Back then, there was less investigation and more politics in the matter. The truth did not come out.»

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC), earlier this month, said that an «investigation be instituted to determine whether there is a violation… of section 337 in the importation into the US, the sale for importation, or the sale within the US after importation of certain products identified… in infringement of one or more… patent and claims». The complaint, filed by Chinese photovoltaics company Trina Solar in September, claimed that an industry in the US exists or is in the process of being established. Besides the Adani companies, various firms of Chinese solar module maker Runergy will be investigated for the alleged infringement of intellectual property rights.

Donald Trump's team delaying transition agreements. What does it mean for security checks, governing?
Trump 's team still hasn't signed agreements that are required to formally begin the transition process to the White House — meaning the government can't provide security clearances and briefings to incoming administration officials and the FBI can't screen his rush of picks for the Cabinet and other key posts. The importance of strenuous federal background screenings — and the fact that Trump's team has not been subjecting the president-elect's selections to such vetting — was evident on Thursday, when former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz withdrew as Trump's pick for attorney general following continued scrutiny over a federal sex trafficking investigation that cast doubt on whether he could be confirmed by the Senate. The continued delay on agreeing to start the formal transition process may eventually force senators to vote on Trump's choices without the benefit of the usual background checks. That process is designed to uncover personal problems, criminal histories and other potential red flags that would raise questions about a nominee's suitability for key jobs.
