Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas, was targeted on October 7 while the Chiefs played the New Orleans Saints. Reports revealed $20,000 in cash was stolen during the break-in. This incident occurred just a day after fellow Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes experienced a burglary attempt at his Belton, Missouri, residence.

Other professional athletes, including NBA players Bobby Portis and Mike Conley, have also been victims of similar break-ins. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are investigating potential links to a South American crime ring known for targeting high-profile athletes on game days.
NFL Issues Safety Warning
In response to these incidents, the NFL issued a safety memo to teams on November 21, urging players to adopt enhanced home security measures. The memo highlighted that burglars often surveil properties through fake home deliveries or by posing as maintenance personnel. It warned athletes to avoid sharing detailed social media updates or showcasing luxury items, as homes in secluded areas are especially vulnerable.
