US Vice President Kamala Harris revealed that their internal polling never indicated that she was leading US President- elect Donald Trump during her US Presidential campaign, in spite of public polls suggesting otherwise, reported USA Today. David Plouffe, who is a key campaign adviser, expressed surprise at the discrepancy while stating that their internal data consistently showed Kamala Harris trailing Donald Trump.
According to USA Today, David Plouffe noted that while public polls in late September and early October portrayed a competitive race, the campaign was aware of its challenges, specifically after US President Joe Biden dropped out in the month of July.

Kamala Harris ultimately lost decisively to Donald Trump, who won all seven battleground states and secured both the Electoral College and popular vote, asserted USA Today. The campaign struggled to differentiate Kamala Harris from Joe Biden due to her loyalty to the administration, which eventually hindered her ability to present herself as an independent candidate.
Several eminent advisers acknowledged the fact that voter dissatisfaction over economic issues and low approval ratings for Joe Biden contributed to their difficulties.
